MBI is now accepting applications for new & returning umpires for the Spring 2010 season. Interested individuals may click on "UMPIRE APPLICATION" (link on right side of welcome page) to submit an application.

NOTE: Returning umpires are also asked to complete a new application for Spring 2010.

Meetings for all individuals who are interested in umpiring in MBI for Spring 2010 will be held as follows:

Session #1
Date: Thursday, February 18
Place:  Hampton Inn @ Rodeo Center
Time:  8:00 PM (Arrive a few minutes early to sign in)
Who: New Applicants and those who umpired for MBI in 2009, and wish to umpire in 2010

Session #2
What: MBI Rules and Game Procedures

Who: ALL New Applicants, plus returning MBI Umpires who are age 18 or younger.

Date: Sunday, February 21
Place: Evans Recreation Center (for directions, click "Maps to Facilities", at left, then choose Evans)
Time: 3:00 - 5:00 PM (Arrive a few minutes early to sign in)

Session #3
What: On-Field Training
Who: Prospective Umpires who have not umpired for MBI in the past, plus any returning umpires under the age of 19. (Attendance is optional for returning umpires who are age 19 and over)
Date: Sunday February 28
Place: City Lake Park
Time: 3:00 PM

Individuals who have NOT previously umpired in MBI are welcome to attend these sessions. We will have a limited number of new umpire slots available for the Spring season. New applicants must attend all 3 of the above-listed sessions in order to be considered for assignment to games this season.

All Umpire applicants age 18 and older (both new and returnees) will be required to submit a Background Check form, plus a Background Check fee of $5 cash. The background check must be submitted at the Feb 18 meeting in order to be considered eligible for umpiring in MBI.
