                                                      History of Middletown Lions - Seasons in Review:

2009 - The Lions 1st Season in Delco League proved to be as successful as any new franchise in the 103 year history of the League. The team finished 1 game short of the playoffs and was very competitive. Congratulations to Wayne on winning the Championship. Team Record was 14-21-1 (sets DELCO league record for wins in 1st Season)  All stars were David News, Andrew Abrams and Bill DeFeo.

2010 - Lions Fall Short, Miss Playoffs by 1 game. Another season highlighted by a very young Lion team which came up just a game short of making the playoffs. Congratulations to Aston Knights on a Championship Season. Team Record was 12-17-3, 2 year combined record is 26-38-4

2011 - Season comes to end 10-25-1, combined record is 36-63-5 Mike Click, Mark Hill and Jordan Hill played in Independent Leagues. Joey Nestor played in he Cooperstown League and a rash of injuries prevented us from being a our best.  Congratulations to Wayne for its record setting Championship season.

2012 - Team Earns 1st Playoff Spot; Seeded 6th, regular season 15-15-2 (team record). Combined Record 51-78-7 With a win over Wayne in the final game of the regular season, the Lions earned not only a .500 record but also a 6th seed in the playoffs. The season had many highlights including great pitching, clutch hitting, stellar defense and wonderful teamwork. Rusty Abrams, team manager led the team to our best season in our short 4 year history. Mark Hill, Kurt Johnson, Anthony Kyne and Andrew Abrams were our All-Stars. Kurt Johnson, Rookie of the Year !  Congratulations to Aston Valley for winning the Championship.

2013 - Team Set records for wins, shutouts and advanced to the Semi-Finals before losing in 4 games to Aston Knights (defending champs)  Record was 22-11-2.  Combined Record is 73-89-9 Defeated the Upper Darby Blue Sox in the first round of the playoffs.  The season had many highlights including starting out 0-5-2 and then winning 16 of the next 17 games.  Also recorded multiple shutouts from starting pithcers Ryan Haley, Andrew Belfiglio, Josh Karahalis and Garret Wramble.  Andrew Abrams & Josh Karahalis completed their 5th season with the Lions (Charter Members).  Anthony Kyne, Dan Haley and Joe Quinn had All-Star seasons along with our Pitching Staff.  Rusty Abrams is the "Delco League Manager of the Year".

2014 - Team was League runner-up, losing to Wayne in the Finals in 5 games as Wayne had a walk off hit in the bottom of the 7th inning.  Lions recorded over 20 wins for the second consecutive season.  Andrew Abrams & Josh Karahalis completed their 6th season (Chartered members).  All Stars include Andrew Abrams, Ryan Haley, Anthony Kyne & Kurt Johnson.

2015 - (12-17-3) (missed playoffs) Injuries hurt the Lions this Season.

2016 - (15-16-1) Back in the Playoffs, defeat Upper Darby Blue Sox in Quarterfinals, lose to League champ Narberth in the semifinals.

2017  - Miss Playoffs by 1 point.

2018  - New Manager Dave Dragone's squad misses Playoffs 2nd year in a row and team finishes last for first time in team history.

2019  - Lions finish last 2nd year in a row, miss playoffs for 3rd year in a row.

2020 - Season Halted by Covid-19.

2021 - Team officially ceases operation.

Game 3:  Aston See-Saws way to lead in Series Win 9-4

Game 4:  Lions Lose 3-1 as Joey Nestor knocks former team out of playoffs

The Lions were defeated in Game 5 (final game) in the bottom of the 7th inning and is League Runner-Up.

Lions lose in Final Inning of Final Game to Wayne, League runner up.
