MLB Pitch Hit Run Competition hosted by MMYB

It is open to ALL boys and girls in our community!
Last year we had kids who competed at our event win 1st place at All Star week at Petco Park!
Pitch Hit & Run™ is the official skillsompetition of Major League Baseball®. This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills.
Boys and girls are divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals during the 2017 MLB™ All-Star Week®.
The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each division age group at the Local Competition will be awarded and advance to the Sectional Level of Competition.

In conjunction with USA Baseball and its other participating national member organizations, PONY Baseball has adopted the new USA Baseball bat standard (USABat). Effective January 1, 2018, with the exception of -3 (BBCOR certified), all other minus factor bats (-5, -7, -9, etc.), must be YBBCOR certified with the USABat licensing stamp on the bat in order to be used for league and tournament play. Minus factor bats -5, -7, -9, etc. used in 2017 will be illegal to use in 2018.
The new YBBCOR certified bats bearing the USABat licensing mark are expected to be offered in retail stores in September.

Congrats to former Mira Mesa Youth Baseball standout Ricky Tyler Thomas for receiving the USA Baseball Richard W. "Dick" Case Award, given annually to USA Baseball's top player!!
PONY Baseball and Softball is proud to announce an Alumni Scholarship of $2,000 for graduates of PONY 14U™ LEAGUE, COLT 16U™ LEAGUE and/or PALOMINO 18U™ LEAGUE. In order to be considered for a scholarship, a PONY baseball or girls softball player must play on a PONY affiliated PONY 14U™, COLT 16U™ and/or PALOMINO 18U™ team for at least two years prior to application and be a senior in high school.
Likewise, an application must be submitted prior to May 1st, 2017 along with the School & Community Activities Form, an Essay on the designated topic, an Official Secondary School Transcript, test results from either the SAT, ACT or TOEFL, a copy of the Letter of Acceptance from the school you are planning to attend, a Notarized Letter confirming participation in an affiliated league and two Letters of Recommendation.
When the aforementioned information has been received, the Scholarship Committee will consider the application complete.
The Scholarship Committee will administer eight scholarships annually, one each to the four United States Zones (North, East, South, and West), Asia Pacific Zone, Caribbean Zone, Canada and Mexico.
