The American Cancer Society Relay for Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps. Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length.
Anyone can participate in Relay for Life. There is a $10.00 registration/commitment fee (per person) that is due upon registration. After that, anything you can raise through individual, team, or online fundraising is graciously accepted. It is recommended that each participant set a personal goal to raise $100.00. If you raise more, that's even better. Even if you can't raise $100.00, you are still welcome to participate.
Only students or children under 18, that raise $100 or more and attend a mandatory meeting (more details in the next few months) can stay the night. All others are welcome to stay until 10:00 pm. All children under 18, will be required to have a waiver form signed by a parent or guardian. All children will need to bring their ID to the event to receive a wristband. Wristbands will include the cell number of the chaperons.
All cancer survivors have their $10.00 registration fee waived.
Join the Team. You can register and get more information on the event at www.relayforlife.org/morenovalleyca. To register, go to the website, click on team list, and join the Moreno Valley Jr. All American Football & Cheer Team.
I hope to see everyone there!
