T-ball (3 and 4 year olds)

Boys and girls ages 3-4 learn hitting and fielding fundamentals in a supportive team environment. Young athletes hit the ball from a batting tee which is height-adjusted for a level swing, batting in order through the line-up for the entire game. The primary goal is to have FUN and begin to instruct young players in the fundamentals of baseball in a supportive team environment.

Coach Pitch (5 and 6 year olds)

Boys and girls ages 5-6 learn hitting and fielding fundamentals in a supportive team environment. Young athletes hit the ball pitched from a coach, batting in order through the line-up for the entire game. A safety core ball is used, similar to the ball used in t-ball.  The primary goal is to have FUN and continue to instruct young players in the fundamentals of baseball in a supportive team environment.

Rookie Baseball (7 and 8 year olds)

Designed primarily for boys ages 7-8, this division makes use of a pitching machine to allow for more hittable balls at the plate and more action in the field. Fear of actually being hit by a pitched ball is diminished. It makes the game safer and improves the playing confidence and ability of all participants.  Players will continue to have FUN and learn the fundamentals of baseball in a friendly competitive format.  Games will be played at Huffman Park and Banoak Recreation.

Minor Baseball (9 and 10 year olds)

Recommended for boys ages 9-10, players build and refine their fundamental skills while beginning to understand game strategy and teamwork. Players begin pitching at this age.  Our 9-10 Minor Division plays in the Catawba County Baseball League.  Travel will be required to local Recreation Centers and Optimist Parks within the county.

Major Baseball (11 and 12 year olds)

The most experienced level of Cal Ripken Baseball, recommended for 11 and 12 year old boys. Cal Ripken Baseball is played under the Official Baseball Rules, but implements some special rules as necessary for the development and welfare of this young age group. Our 11-12 Major Division plays in the Catawba County Baseball League so travel will be required to local Recreation Centers and Optimist Parks in the county.

Babe Ruth Baseball (13-15 year olds)

Founded in 1951, Babe Ruth Baseball League was created for ballplayers ages 13-15 who wished to continue their baseball playing experience beyond the age of 12. This is where players get their baseball cleats muddy for the first time on standard 90' diamonds under Official Baseball Rules used by Major League Baseball.

8U Softball (7 and 8 year olds)

Designed for girls ages 6-8, this division makes use of a pitching machine to allow for more hittable balls at the plate and more action in the field. Fear of actually being hit by a pitched ball is diminished. It makes the game safer and improves the playing confidence and ability of all participants. The primary emphasis of Babe Ruth Softball is on education, skill development, participation for all levels of ability and of course, having fun.  All of our softball teams participate in the Catawba County Softball League.  Travel will be required to local Recreation Centers and Optimist Parks.

10U Softball (9 and 10 year olds)

Designed for girls age 9-10, players build and refine their fundamental skills while beginning to understand game strategy and teamwork. Players begin pitching at this age. The primary emphasis of Babe Ruth Softball is on education, skill development, participation for all levels of ability and of course, having fun.  All of our softball teams participate in the Catawba County Softball League.  Travel will be required to local Recreation Centers and Optimist Parks.
