Pre-Season Update
Tryouts are finished, the draft has been conducted, and team rosters are nearly complete. Final team rosters will be distributed at the league meeting, after which you should hear from your coach. Babe Ruth will startup later in the spring.
We hope to start indoor practices in the next couple of weeks for Minors, Majors, 10U, 12U and 16U players. The rest of the season's schedule is in flux, however, because of last week's big snow storm. The full season schedule, including Opening Day, won't be set until the snow melts and we are able to see the condition of the fields.
Dick's Sporting Goods Discounts
To help you prepare for the upcoming season, Dick's Sporting Goods on Loudon Road in Concord is holding a league appreciation event on March 23rd, 24th, and 25th. MVYBS players will receive 20 percent off throughout the store. The discount will be good on all of your baseball/softball needs including, gloves, bats, cleats, batting gloves, baseball/softball pants, baseball/softball apparel, batting helmets, batting gloves, bat bags, eye black, and more. The offer is valid on anything in store with just a few exclusions as noted on flyer and at the discretion of the store.  Dick's is also a league sponsor. Bring a copy of the flyer with you or mention to the cashier that you are part of Merrimack Valley Youth Baseball and Softball.
Cash Calendars
In addition to league sponsors and registration fees, the league relies on Cash Calendar sales to support the league. Every league family is asked to sell 5 calendars for $5 each. Everyone who purchases a calendar is entered into a drawing for cash prizes in the month of May, culminating in drawing for $250 on May 31st. Calendars are  due to coaches before May 1st. You can start selling calendars now. You can download and print copies of the calendar here. New this year: The team that sells the most calendars will win a pizza and ice cream party during the season!
League Store
You can outfit your or your player for the season at the MVYBS League Store. You can purchase t-shirts, jackets, hats and other apparel adorned with the MVYBS logo. Most items can be customized with player's name. Popular brands include Adidas, Under Armour, and Mizuno. A portion of sales benefits MVYBS. If you shop today, items will arrive before Opening Day. You can shop today here
While we wait for the snow to melt, be on the lookout for more updates, including the dates for Field Cleanup Day, Opening Day, and Team Picture Day. Keep an eye on the League Website, and subscribe to the League's Facebook group.
