St John the Evangelist Fall 2016 Tournament - December 10

The Fall 2016 tournament will take place on December 10. All teams in the U7, U8, U9, U10, U12, U14 and HS divisions will participate in the tournament. The tournament will follow a single elimination format which means that only the winning team from each game will progress in the tournament.  Scores and progression will be updated and posted by the concession stand throughout the day. Keep checking the website for more information.

U4, U5 and U6 Games – December 10

U4, U5 and U6 teams will play one regular length game on December 10. Game times and field information are available under the Games Schedule link on the Main Menu. Participation medals will be given to all players in U4, U5 and U6 divisions. All coaches should proceed with their team to the tent next to the concession stand and present each player with a participation medal immediately after the completion of their game. Coaches should also present the sponsor with a team plaque.

Spring 2017 Season

The Calendar on the Main Menu has been updated with Spring 2017 season information. 

Sign up for the spring season will start on January 7th at the coastland mall from 10:00am to 4:00pm and January 8th from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.

 

Optimist Select Players

Hello Parents,

We are excited to announce plans to create Optimist Select teams in the following divisions:

            U8B, U8G, U9B-U10B, U9G-U10G, U12B & U12G

The tryouts are open to Optimist players in the above divisions. Players will be selected at tryouts scheduled as follows:

Boys December 13 & 17 – 6:00pm-7:30pm    Bonita YMCA Field          

Girls December 15 & 18 – 6:00pm-7:30pm    Bonita YMCA Field

Optimist Select team rosters will be posted on the website by end of December.

The Optimist Select teams will receive two practices per week from January 5th through the middle of February on Tuesday & Thursday. January practices are at Bonita fields, February practices are at Vineyards Fields. All practices are from 6:00pm to 7:15pm.

The teams will participate in  local tournaments

Each player will receive 1 full Optimist Select uniform

All costs including tournament entry fees, team uniform, and FYSA registration fee will be included in the player 's fee. 

Fee:  $150 per player

 

Essay Contest

The Optimist Club of Naples will hold its annual essay contest for a chance for a student to win $100.00 for third place, $150.00 for second place or $250.00 for first place. The first place winner will advance to district where they can win as much as $2500.00 from Optimist International.

Come join the biggest and best soccer camps in Collier County. 
Oggi Oggi Oggi camps ran by Gavin Spooner has seen over 5,000 players participate in 25 years. The summer 2016 camps supported by Naples Optimist Soccer and Azzurri Storm had over 175 players and last Winter had over 80 players here in Naples.

Camps are open to players of all levels, from all clubs affiliations and programs.

Previous campers have gone on and played collegiate soccer, won NCAA national championships and former camper Jack Jewsbury is in the top 10 of all time appearances in the MLS!

These camps are open to all players, competitive and recreational ages 4+ and are perfect for soccer players who can't get enough. Camps will be traditional soccer camps, targeting different aspects of the game daily. The camps will focus on skill development and fun, fun, fun with an endless supply of games that all players will remember long into the future. 
1/2 day Camp is 9-11.30

HEADS UP Concussion

HEADS UP Concussion in Youth Sports is a free, online course available to coaches, parents, and others helping to keep athletes safe from concussion. It features interviews with leading experts, dynamic graphics and interactive exercises, and compelling storytelling to help you recognize a concussion and know how to respond if you think that your athlete might have a concussion.
