Our 3rd Annual Cancer Awareness Night will take place this Friday, January 27th against Skyline High School. We are very proud to be fundraising this year for a local girl's basketball player in our community, Katie Collier, from Seattle Christian High School. She has been battling a rare form of leukemia and is truly an inspiration. Her family has set up the "Katie Collier Medical Fund" which accepts donations through US Bank. For our special night, Katie and her family will be supported, hopefully in a BIG way, by Newport Girls Hoops!!

 

Please spread the word about our special night and make every effort to attend the game. Tip times are scheduled for 3:30pm (JV) and 6:30pm (Varsity), with the boys varsity plays following the girls varsity at 8:00pm.

Avenging an earlier season loss to the Eastlake JV by more than 30 points, our Newport JV kids came out ready to play, building a 12 point fourth-quarter lead. However, Eastlake climbed back into it down the stretch, tying the game on two free throws with 3.7 seconds remaining. Little did they know, that was just enough time for Coach Kurt to draw up the perfect play, and junior Torey Tokita to play the role of hero for a night!! Check it out in the link below...
