IMPORTANT UPDATE - PAL Summer Travel Baseball Evaluations & Uniforms

ONLY the following age groups will be required to attend player evaluations for the 2018 New Providence Summer Travel program.  All evaluations will be held at Oakwood Park.  All players must have previously registered for the program and must attend the evaluation date/time in order to be eligible for "Gold" team consideration.


Please note that ALL TRAVEL players, regardless of tryout status, must attend uniform jersey sizing and ordering at Oakwood Park on Saturday April 28th from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm.  Players will be responsible for their own solid white, belted baseball pants.


Players should arrive 15 minutes prior to their scheduled time with glove, bat and batting helmet, as well as personal protective equipment.  Metal cleats are not permitted on Oakwood fields.  Please review bat regulations on this web site.

New Bat Regulations for Travel Baseball, Tee Ball & Coach Pitch Summer PAL



Effective January 1, 2018, the following new bat regulations go into effect for PAL programs Tee Ball, Coach Pitch and Travel Baseball.


These new bat regulations will be strictly enforced at Travel Baseball Tryouts.


---> For our 13 and 14 year old ball players:

  • Any -3 BBCOR stamp is fine.  
  • Otherwise, no drop greater than -5 for 14U (bat must have new "USA" stamp) 
  • Otherwise, no drop greater than -8 for 13U (bat must have new "USA" stamp) 


---> For our Tee Ball thru 12U ball players, ALL bats must have new "USA" stamp

REC and PAL Registration Update



In light of NP PAL's initiative this season to comply with the Cal Ripken rules, we want to thank our baseball families for supporting this decision and registering their child for Spring recreation baseball. We are pleased to report that the Rec baseball registration numbers are higher than previous years, which simply put, makes a stronger NP baseball program for everyone.

Registration for the Recreation baseball program is a requirement for the Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth District Tournament in June/July. If you haven't registered your child and you anticipate that they will be playing for a team in a Cal Ripken district tournament, you have one last chance to register. The Recreation Department will accept registrations up until midnight this Thursday, March 22nd.

and Junior Baseball Registration


Registration for the 2018 New Providence PAL “Travel Baseball” program will begin on March 1, 2018 and conclude on March 31, 2018. 

Registration for “Junior Baseball”, including “Tee Ball” for ages 5 and 6 and “Coach Pitch” baseball for ages 7 and 8 will be available as well.

All players MUST register on-line.  To access the registration site:

·   Go to  - click on “Register Today”

·   This will direct you to the Community Pass site to log on to your account. (New users can set up an account at this point)

·   Once logged into your account, select “New Providence PAL” from the “Select Organization” drop down menu

·   Select “Summer Baseball 2018” from the activity drop down menu

·   Click “Register Now”

·   Follow on-line instructions to complete registration

Summer “Travel Baseball” tryouts will be held for ages 8-14 as necessary in April.  Schedule will be published after registration has been completed on March 31, 2018.  Check PAL Baseball website for tryout and other info at:

Player's "Baseball Age" is as of April 30th, 2018.

Travel Baseball Registration fee includes Jersey, Cap, Socks and Belt.  All travel players are to provide their own solid white, belted pants.

PLEASE NOTE:  Late registration requests will be subject to a $50 late fee and will only be considered based upon roster availability.  Although “last chance registration” is offered, spots on teams cannot be guaranteed after the normal registration period.  Wait lists will be created for late-registering players.

Tee Ball and Coach Pitch Information

Tee Ball will start on Monday June 25th and played thru Wednesday July 25th on Mondays and Wednesdays at Salt Brook from 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm or so, as per coaches' decision.

Coach Pitch will start on Tuesday June 26th and played thru Thursday July 26th on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Salt Brook from 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm or so, as per coaches' decision.

Holiday conflicts will be addressed by your coaches.

Tee Ball & Coach Pitch players should provide their own gloves, batting helmets and bats; however, the PAL Junior Baseball program will have extra helmets and a couple of extra bats (new rules in effect, with all bats requiring the new "USA" stamp) available at the field storage boxes.
