North Jersey Amateur Baseball League


Welcome to the online home of the North Jersey Amateur Baseball League (NJABL). The NJABL is an 18 and up all-wood bat baseball league with teams from Bergen, Passaic, Hudson and Rockland (NY) Counties. The goal of the NJABL is to provide an organized and highly competitive environment for current collegiate baseball players, as well as recent graduates and former professional ballplayers. The strength and commitment of our core teams as well as the quality of the athlete competing will allow the league to grow, succeed and be the premier wood bat baseball league of North Jersey.

Individual players interested in joining teams should fill out the league's free agent player inquiry form found on the left tool bar under online forms or else contact the team representative in the town nearest you. Once completed your info will be circulated to all league managers for review.

Wyckoff blanks Paramus 1-0

The Raiders completed the shutout Monday night against the Paramus Birds thanks to a stellar pitching performance by Mike Vranesich. Vranesich throw a solid 7 innings giving up 3 hits and struck out 8 batters. Wyckoff picked up the clutch RBI on PJ Saporito's single to left field.

Sox finally defeat Flash

Park Ridge has had the Black Sox number in the NJABL. Until Monday night when Nick Recarte, Kyle Kennett and Isaac Spiegel combined to no-hit the Flash, who had previously not lost to the Black Sox since their inception into the league. 
It wasn't pretty, but Recarte worked through 10 walks on the day and left with the bases loaded and the 3 hitter for Kyle Kennet, who struck him out. Kennett and Spiegel were perfect in relief. 
The Sox pounded out 12 hits, led by Jose Garcia's 4-4 2RBI 2R day. Phil Mistrette added 2 hits and 5 RBI, and Mike Coniglio added 2 hits, runs and steals. The scored in every offensive inning

Englewood out slugs West Milford 13-11

Big offensive days from the A's Pete Moore & Robin "Bip" Roberts. Roberts had four hits on the day, with a homer & three RBI. Moore had two solo homers & Paul Rosa got in on the action with a grand slam in the second inning. Solid pitching efforts by Vin Luppino & Mike Balash who helped the A's get their fourteenth victory of the season.

Astros stay hot, win 2 more today

Rockland Astros won a pair of games today, first beating the Lyndhurst Black Sox 8-1. The Astros held down the Black Sox behind Chris Hutton's (Catholic U) complete game. Chris help the Sox to 1 run on 7 hits for the victory. The Astros had 2 big HR's one 3 run blast by Kyle Unger (Sacred Heart) and the other a 2 run shot by Matt Dedeo (Union) to pace the Astros offense. John Jonas had a hit and scored the Black Sox only run. Game 2 saw the Astros run their winning streak to 6 games with a 7-4 win over Paramus. Casey (Muffin man) Kern (Chestnut Hill) pitched 6 solid innings of 3 run ball. Kevin Frank (Stac) pitched the 7th inning for his first Astros save. Kevin Kolesar (Queens College) led the Astros offense with 3 hits and 2 stolen bases. Dave Schwartz hit a 2 run home run for the Birds in the loss.

Rays repel Raiders 3-0

Joe Zembryski allowed 2 hits,0 runs and K'd 10 over 6 innings in a 3-0 victory for the Rays. Cody Mccallum's 2B,1B,RBI led the offense along with an Alex Lore RBI single and a Will Krajnik SAC fly. Kevin Van Dyk earned the save. Rex MacMillan added a key hit and scored 2 runs. Bobby Graber tossed a good game scattering only 5 hits for the Raiders.

Lyndhurst walks off over Rutherford 5-4

Nick Ruscingno hit a walkoff single in the bottom pf the 7th to lead the Sox over the Rays 5-4. John Jonas had 2 hits and scored a run. Jose Garcia started the 7th inning rally with a double, followed by a Joe Torre single before Ruscingno ended it with his single. Rex MacMillan went 2-4 with 2 stolen bases for Rutherford.

Park Ridge beats Bergen Pirates 3-1

Mike Warren threw a complete game 4 hitter, striking out 7 as Park Ridge defeated the Bergen Pirates 3-1. Connor Walsh went 2-4 and Alex Castro reached base safely in all 3 at bats with a single and 2 walks. Alfredo Monogas had an rbi single in the 1st inning for the Pirates. Loran Kolaci took the loss.

Evan Dymond and Mickey Stec combined to shut down an Englewood offense allowing only 1 unearned run in the 6th inning, as the Flash improved their league leading record to 12-2. Englewood's Ryan Page went 4 innings with 11 k's allowing only 1 hit, a double by Zach Carroll who would steal 3rd base and score on an infield ground out by Jonathon Molinelli. Englewood tied it up at 1-1 in the 5th on a 2 out throwing error. Park Ridge would score 2 more runs in the bottom of the 5th with hits by Jeremy Pic, Nick Coppolla and Alex Castro  and 3 walks by A's reliever Jacinto Gonnell. Junior Erazo had 3 hits for Englewood who fell to 11-3.

The Rockland Astros defeated Wyckoff 6-3 in game 1 and then took game 2 by a score of 7-3 after Kevin Ferguson hit a walk off grandslam in the bottom of the 7th.

Mark Duncan and Andrew Himmelfarb had 2 hits apiece for Nyack who defeated Little Ferry 7-4. Nyack improves to 11-3 on the year while Little Ferry drops to 2-11

Englewood beats Rutherford 2-1 in 10 innings

Englewood A's pitching combination of Josh Kwak & Vin Luppino combined for ten solid innings of work on the mound. Kwak started the game and threw five innings only allowing one earned run, scattering four hits & striking four batters. Luppino came in relief and threw five shut out innings to get the win.. Johnathan Marichal hit a sacrifice fly with one out & the bases loaded, in the bottom of the tenth inning to break the tie in walk off fashion. Josh Miller also provided some offense going three for four on the day.

Pearl River beats West Milford 8-2

The Pearl River Salty Dogs beat the West Milford Elks 8-2. Joe Stewart pitched 4 innings to earn the win, with Tom Kalaba closing out the last 3 innings. On offense, John Michael Verwoert hit his 1st Home Run, had 2 hits and 3 RBI's. Jariel Burgos and Henry Villegas each had 1 hit and an RBI, and Nick O'Connor had 1 hit and scored twice.

Park Ridge wins 10th in a row, 5-1 over Nyack

Mike Warren took a perfect game into the 5th inning before hitting a Nyack batter. Warren finished with 6 scoreless innings giving up 3 hits and striking out 7. Connor Walsh had 2 doubles and 3 rbi's, Jeremy Pic added a solo home run and Dan McEldowney reached base all 4 at bats with a double and 3 walks for the Flash who won their 10th game in a row. Mark Duncan had an RBI single in the 7th for Nyack. Mark Sanford took the loss.

Casey (Muffin Man) Kern (Chestnut Hill) shuts out the Cutters in 6 innings of 3 hit ball and fans 9. Eric (Bear) Anderson (FDU) pitched a perfect 9th to complete the shutout. The Astros offense was lead by Malcom Nails 2 run home run in the 2nd inning and all the Astros would need. Fair Lawn had 3 players with a hit on the night.

Englewood beats Pearl River 1-0

June 18, 2015

Combined shutout by starter A.J. Marini & A's newcomer Kyle Mullen. Marini left the game with four innings pitched scattering two hits while striking out one batter. Mullen finished the game with three innings pitch allowing only two hits while striking out five batters to earn his first win as an Englewood Athletic. Vito Marichal provided the offense with an RBI single in the fourth that scored teammate Robin "Bip" Roberts.

Rutherford defeats West Milford 9-1

June 18, 2015

The Rays won their 6th in a row by banging out 12 hits behind a five inning one hit stint by Goose Sangiardi (2-1). The surge was let by Alex Lore's (2H 5RBI) including a big 3 run two bagger and Sphinx Hanna (3H 2RBI). Rex MacMillan also had 2 hits in the onslaught. Nick Romito closed it out in mop up duty allowing one unit in the 7th frame.

The NJABL is interested in hearing from all baseball players interested in competing as a member of one of our 16 existing teams.  In order to be considered, please go to the online forms section on the left and complete a New Player application.  You are also encouraged to reach out to the general managers of all of our franchises.  Contact information is listed with each teams roster.
