This is the dedicated site for Oriole Park Baseball Umpires only. The site is password protected so that only the umpires can access it.
To all umpires and League directors,
Due to so many changes in schedules and rainouts and umpires not showing up we have now set up a twitter account for the umpires. All umpires are required to sign up for the umpire texts and directors are encouraged to.
We will send a tweet every evening that will include what umpires are umping the next day and what diamond they are on. This will serve as a reminder to the umpires and directors will now know who to contact if their is no umpire on their diamond. Directors will also be able to see if there is no umpire scheduled and your division has a game or if an umpire is scheduled and you have canceled your game for whatever reason.

Umpire Numbering System
explination of umpire numbering system (umpire Grade system) to help you know who you can trade games with. The umpires grade is not a reflection of performance but based on experience and seniority. The system is as follows
B1 - Boys Only Pony and down
B2 - Boys Only Midget and down
B3 - Boys Only Pee Wee and down
G1 - Girls Only 15- 17 and Down
G2 - Girls Only 13 - 14 and down
G3 - Girls Only 11-12 and down
G4 - Girls Only 9-10 and down
A2- Both Boys and Girls Pony/ 13 - 14
A3 - Both Boys and Girls Midget/ 11-12 and down
A4 - Both Boys and Girls Pee Wee/ 9-10 and down
A5 - Both Boys and Girls Jr Pee Wee
Most first year umpires are numbered A5 unless they had previous experience. The umpire numbers will start with the above prefixes with numbering after. For reasons of switching games the first two characters is all that matters to you.
example#1 you are umpire A540 assigned to umpire a boys JrPW game. You cant make the game and need to find a replacement. Any umpire can take your game as all umpires are your grade of A5 or higher.
Example#2 You are umpire B277 and assigned to umpire a boys Midget game. You cant make the game. Any umpire with a number starting with B2, B1 or A3 can take your game.
Example #3 You are umpire A344 and assigned to umpire a girls 9-10 game. You cant make the game. Any umpire with a number starting with G1,G2,G3,G4, A3 and A4 can take you game.
Please ensure that you follow the above protocol when changing games. Under no circumstances should an umpire move up above their grade unless it has been cleared by the head umpire.
