Our Pack Meeting this month is set for Thursday, March 18th at 6:30 pm. The scouts will help stock Redeemer Church’s food pantry with canned goods and other needed items that were collected the week prior. Your scout should receive flyers describing the annual food drive at his next Den Meeting. The distribution of the flyers to neighbors and friends can begin on Saturday, March 13th. As a reminder, all scouts should wear their uniform while distributing the flyers to homes in their area, and then again when returning to pick up the donations.
After the Pack spends some time sorting the food into boxes, the meeting will end by playing a fun- filled game of dodge ball! Snacks will be provided.
Our scouts will also have an opportunity to vote on their charity of choice. Proceeds raised from the cake auction at the Blue & Gold Banquet will go to one of the following charities: 1) the Billsen family who recently lost their home to a fire; 2) Valley Farms to assist in the construction of a Miracle League Baseball field for children with disabilities; or 3) the local chapter of the American Red Cross.
Finally, sign-up sheets for Summer Day Camp will be available. Camp is scheduled to take place from July 12 – 15th at the Holiday Haven Camp in Wacousta, MI. Please note that the Chief Okemos Council has indicated the possibility of capping attendance to 150 this year, so take advantage of this opportunity to sign- up early!
