CAL RIPKEN BASEBALL DIVISION

There is a new list of approved bats in handouts section.

Cal Ripken 2018 bat rule.

In links on the left side I have a link to questions about the new pat rule.

 PENALTY
• If the illegal bat is discovered prior to a batter completing his “at bat” the bat is simply removed from play and the “at bat” continues.

• A player who uses an illegal bat or non-conforming barrel dimension and hits a fair ball will be ruled out. No advancement on the bases will be allowed, and any outs during the play shall stand. This is an appeal play. The “at bat” will be considered legal once a pitch is thrown to the next batter.

• Any bat discovered prior to the game that does not conform to the above rule shall be directed to be removed immediately and not be allowed for use during the game.

Starting in 2018 The new bat composition and barrel size will start. 99% of the current bats will not be legal so advise your leagues about buying composite bats this year.

Cumberland County is leaving Cal Ripken Baseball and Joining Carlisle. Thank you for your membership over the years.

2018 Tournament Dates

If there are an abundance of teams the dates for Districts may be moved forward a day or so.

If your team is not going to follow the complete trail you may not enter Districts.
