1970 - 2014

COACHES,(CHEER & FOOTBALL).
PLAYERS,CHEERLEADERS, PARENTS, DONS FAMILIES,
WE WILL HAVE A PRAYER VIGIL TONIGHT AT 6:00 PM
IN MEMORY OF COACH MARIO PEREZ.
OVER ON THE FIELD WHERE
THE PEEWEE'S ARE PRACTICING
(EAST SIDE OF PARK,BY BURKE MIDDLE SCHOOL)
WE ASK THAT YOU ALL ATTEND PLEASE.
It is with heavy hearts & great sadness that
we have learned of the passing
of a great friend, coach & dedicated member of our organization.
On Thursday, July 31st we lost Mario Perez.
Mario had been currently
coaching on Robert O'campos staff and also was a member
of the Mighty "Gold Rush" flag football staff.
He was dedicated and loyal to the program.
You could always count on Mario to pitch in
when it came to the firework stand, painting the fields,
certification day or any other
Dons function that required assistance.
Our program is what it is today because of Mario,
and many others like him.
He will always be an excellent example of what a volunteer is.
We are not as complete as we were a
week ago without Coach Perez but
we are all better people for having known him.
Mario has left behind his loving wife Gladys,
a former board member,
AD, team mom and another great asset to our program.
Marios' children Marissa & Noah, former Donna & Don.
To you three, we offer our prayers, our condolences, our friendship,
our love & our assistance in anything you need.
Please keep coach Mario Perez and his family in your prayers
& take a minute to leave a message to them, or a memory
of Coach Perez on our guestbook for
all to see how much he meant to us all.
Rest in peace our friend.
Our guardian angel in a DONS T-shirt.
YOU WILL BE MISSED.

The Dons are the proud recipient of a $10,000 grant from the LA84 Foundation!
The LA84 Foundation is endowed with surplus funds from the 1984 Olympic
Games. Their mission is to serve L.A. youth through sports. Out of 123 applicants,
only 28 groups were selected to receive funding. We are honored to have
been chosen and plan to use this grant to purchase much needed gear
and equipment in order to provide a safe environment for our youth. Our thanks
and appreciation goes out to the LA84 Foundation for supporting our program.
Hopefully Sam the Eagle can make it to one of our Dons games this season!

The Pico Rivera Dons would like to thank NASA Disposal Services for showing
their commitment to the youth of our area. Their generous sponsorship
donation will help replace some of our equipment that was recently stolen.

After reaching out to businesses in Pico Rivera and surrounding communities,
NASA Disposal Services stepped in. With their assistance we were able
to replace a portion of our equipment that was taken from our program.

In an email sent to our Board of Directors, the company stated the following:

"We are honored to support a vital organization such as yours, especially when it
involves something dear to our hearts, our “YOUTH”. It is they who are going to go
on and lead in different facets of life. We want them to reflect back and remember
the good times they had growing up in this special community of Pico Rivera.
We, too, went to school in the city and have roots that date back to 1965..."

Once again, thank you to NASA Disposal Services for your kindness and generosity.
With your help, the Pico Rivera Dons will be able to continue to help prepare
our student athletes for the next level, not only on the field but off the field
as well. For more information on Nasa Disposal Services, please click here.
