Celebrating Our 45th Year of
It is with  heavy hearts that we  must once again announce the passing of a long time beloved coach.
Marty Amesquita  passed away on Friday Sept 11th
after a long battle with an illness he  could not overcome.
Marty was a long time coach  in
our program  for over 20 years.
He was a coach that was well known throughout the conference
and produced many a fine young man,
instilling in them all the attributes of a Don,
honor, sportsmanship, loyalty,  hard work, dedication and pride.
Marty's dedication to the program was unquestionable
as you could find him helping out every time
the call was made for assistance to our many coaches & their staff's.
Our hearts, prayers & condolences go out to Marty's boys,
Martin Amesquita Jr, Nick Yanez, Justin Amesquita,
all who have played and coached in our program
& to his longtime girlfriend and board member Sonya Hennan.
We ask for prayers for his family.
Marty you will truly be missed.
If you would like, we ask that you leave a thought or wishes for the family
on our guestbook or facebook page.
A year ago our program suffered two heart-breaking events in a 24 hour period. Today we keep their memory alive as we bow our heads in prayer. We stand in unity with the Perez and Mendoza families. May God bless and keep you.

The Dons are the proud recipient of a $10,000 grant from the LA84 Foundation!
The LA84 Foundation is endowed with surplus funds from the 1984 Olympic
Games. Their mission is to serve L.A. youth through sports. Out of 123 applicants,
only 28 groups were selected to receive funding. We are honored to have
been chosen and plan to use this grant to purchase much needed gear
and equipment in order to provide a safe environment for our youth. Our thanks
and appreciation goes out to the LA84 Foundation for supporting our program.
Hopefully Sam the Eagle can make it to one of our Dons games this season!

The Pico Rivera Dons would like to thank NASA Disposal Services for showing
their commitment to the youth of our area. Their generous sponsorship
donation will help replace some of our equipment that was recently stolen.

After reaching out to businesses in Pico Rivera and surrounding communities,
NASA Disposal Services stepped in. With their assistance we were able
to replace a portion of our equipment that was taken from our program.

In an email sent to our Board of Directors, the company stated the following:

"We are honored to support a vital organization such as yours, especially when it
involves something dear to our hearts, our “YOUTH”. It is they who are going to go
on and lead in different facets of life. We want them to reflect back and remember
the good times they had growing up in this special community of Pico Rivera.
We, too, went to school in the city and have roots that date back to 1965..."

Once again, thank you to NASA Disposal Services for your kindness and generosity.
With your help, the Pico Rivera Dons will be able to continue to help prepare
our student athletes for the next level, not only on the field but off the field
as well. For more information on Nasa Disposal Services, please click here.
