Congratulations to Learn to Skate Coaches Cazzi Rosoff and Sue Gadway
Congratulations to PYH Learn to Skate Coaches Cazzi Rosoff and Sue Gadway as they were selected as Responsible Sports Liberty Mutual National Coaches of the Month. The following article can be found in this month's USA Hockey Magazine.
Cazzi Rosoff and Sue Gadway have seen kids as young as 3 years old, wobble and fall when they first take the ice, grow into little "go-go's" that fly around the rink by the end of the year. And over the years, the pair has seen those players grow and mature, graduate from college and eventually get married. "To see those young folks grow up, pursue their futures-getting married, having children, it does make me feel a little old, I have to say," Gadway says. "But knowing that we've had that interaction way back when just kind of warms my heart and gives me a big smile." For close to a decade, the coaching duo has been working in tandem for the Plattsburgh N.Y., Learn to Skate Program, getting kids involved in the game early and creating a new generation of players. "If they learn to love it when they're younger, even if they don't continue on to high school or whatever, eventually they're going to play somewhere," says Rosoff. "Hockey's for life." Gadway says they've seen the game grow, not just among younger players, but in the community at large. And she says that her "partner in crime" Rosoff, and her husband have been in large part why the game has grown: "If you see a hockey stick or a hockey jersey or even a pair of skates, you can see the Rosoffs right there."
Congrats the the PeeWee boys for their Championship this month!
