FIRST ANNUAL RUFF RYDER CINCO DE MAYO TOURNEY CHAMPS
RUFF RYDERZ PUT ON A 10U TOURNEY OVER THE CINCO DE MAYO WEEKEND. IT WAS A GREAT WEEKEND OF BASEBALL,GOOD FOOD,A ND LOTS OF FUN. WE EVEN HAD A TEAM FROM SAN DIEGO COME UP. WE HAD GOOD COMPETETION TOO.IN THE END IT WAS THE SD ACES AND RUFF RYDERZ FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP. WE HAD A TEAM DROP ,SO WE GATHERED SOME OF OUR 10 YR OLD PLAYERS WHO PLAY UP AND GATHERED SOME LOCAL LITTLE LEAGUE PLAYERS AND PUT A TEAM TOGETHER. WELL IT SHOWED THAT THOSE YOUNGER PLAYERS WHO PLAYED UP A DIVISION AS THEY POWERED THEIR WAY TO A CHAMPIONSHIP.

RYDERZ PLAYED IN THE TRIPLE CROWN BLD DUEL DOWN AT THE NEW BLD PERRIS.
BOYS PLAYED WELL ALL WEEKEND AND CAME OUT SATURDAY AS THE #1 SEED.
STILL HAVING TO PLAY THREE GAMES SUNDAY.THE BOYS REACHED THE FINAL TO FACE TEAM RIP OUT OF NORTH SAN DIEGO,RIP A MAJOR D1 TEAM CAME OUT SWINGING AND PUT UP A FIVE SPOT IN THE FIRST. IN USUAL RUFF RYDER FASHION BOYS WAITED TILL THE LAST INNING TO WAKE UP BUT FAILED TO COME THRU.
THE WEEKEND WASNT A FAILURE AS THE BOYS PLAYED WELL.

OUR BATS WERE QUIET SATURDAY BUT CAME OUT 1-1 FOR SATURDAY,SUNDAY STARTED SLOW BUT AS THE BOYS SAT BACK AND DROVE THE BALLS THE BATS AWOKE!
ENDED UP THE SECOND SEED AND MATCHED UP WITH OUR FRIEND FROM TEMECULA THE GAMERZ! WE CAME OUT HUNGRY AND HELD THE LEAD TO THE END BUT COULD NOT HOLD ON AS THE GAMERZ WON ON A WALK OFF 5-4. GOOD GAME BOYZ AND ATTA WAY TO FIGHT THROUGH!

ALSO E-MONEY THREW A ONE HITTER ON SATURDAY AND CAME BACK MONDAY TO PITCH US INTO THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME! CONGRATS TO THE BOYS AND THANK YOU PARENTS FOR THE SUPPORT! RYDERZ ENDED THE 2011 YEAR ON A GOOD NOTE BY WINNING THE USSSA WINTER NATIONALS IN ARIZONA. WE OUTSCORED THE OPPONENT 85-35 AND GOIN 6-1 FOR THE WEEKEND. BOYZ HIT THE BALL WELL,PARENTS GOT INTO THE GAME LIKE USUSAL

MISSING SOME KEY PLAYERS AND GETTING PREP FOR THE WINTER NATIONALS IN ARIZONA WE HAD SOME FRIENDS FROM TEAM QUEST AND A SPECIAL HAWAIIAN BOY FILL IN! THANKS FOR THE HELP.

BOYZ SCORED A TOTAL OF 68 RUNS IN SEVEN GAMES. ALL WEEKEND WE WERE BATTELING BACK, WE WERE HITTING THE BALL HARD ORTEGA AND EMERT HAD SOME BIG HITS IN ONE OF OUR GAMES TO GET US BACK INTO IT. WE GOT TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP WE SOME NO DIE ATTITUDE AND CLUTCH HITTING. IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP WE HAD TO USE BIGGIE TO PITCH CAUSE HE HAD THE FRESHEST ARM.

HOW CAN YOU FORGET MAZI PUT OUT FROM CENTER FIELD TO FIRST BASE ON THE MONEY.E-MONEY CAME THROUGH AGAIN AND PITCHED A HELL OF A CHAMPIONSHIP GAME KEEPING THE BREWERS OFF BALANCED.REDEMPTION WAS THE WORD AS THE LAST TIME WE CAME DOWN TO THE BORDER IT WAS A LET DOWN.THE BOYS WERE HOT OUT THE BAT LOSING ONLYTO THE MAYOS BY ONE WHO ENDED UP TAKING THE MAJOR DIVISION AND THE GREEN SOX. BEING A TRAVELBALL PARENT
Some say Travel Ball Parents live their lives through their travelball kids... Well, I strongly disagree.
I used to have a regular life. A few of my friends say that sentence should say, "I used to have a life, period." Actually, it doesn't seem that long ago. Then, I became a travelball parent.
I used to think $40 was an exorbant price for a baseball bat. Now, the contents of my son's equipment bag are worth more than anything in the house- including clothes, jewelry, watches, and my laptop computer!
I used to be a leader in my field of work. I still am. (You have to keep a good paycheck coming if you want to support a travelball habit...lol).
I used to think a doubleheader was a long day at the ball field. Now, after 2 ballgames, we're just getting warmed up.
I used to look for little restaurants that served seafood fresh from the boat. Now, I am a connoisseur of nachos and hotdogs and my kids rate a city by the quality of a tournament's snackbar.
Sunflower seeds used to be something I would see at a store and wonder who would eat those things. Now, I don't feel comfortable leaving the house without a bag in my back pocket.
My lawn used to look like a carpet. It was green, mowed, trimmed, and watered. Now, I have two bare spots 46 feet apart and dents in my garage door from fastballs that got away.
My car used to draw admiring looks and comments. It was clean and waxed, shined and armoralled. Now, it only draws attention when it wins the "dirtiest car in the parking lot prize."
I used to have a garage. Now, I have an indoor batting area.
My friends used to spend Monday morning talking about a round of golf or movie we had just seen. Now, I bore them to death with detailed play by play descriptions of 5 or 6 low scoring ballgames.
We used to sit and talk for hours. We still do--however, now it's to keep the driver awake when we are headed home from a tourny on a late Sunday evening.
My summer casual wardrobe used to be made up of color coordinated polo shirts, cool cottons in bright colors and an occassional Aloha shirt. Now, I have a closet full of T-shirts that have tournament names on the front and competing teams on the back.
We used to spend our summer vacations relaxing at the beach or visiting family. Now, we hit the road with 20 of our closest friends in a caravan that could rival some small town parades.
I used to be concerned that I would fall into the trap of living my life through my kids. Now... I know that I am a PRIVILIDGED parent... able to LIVE MY LIFE ... WITH MY KIDS!!!
