Teams MUST PLAY 80% of the assigned games BY THE CUT OFF DATE to be eligible for tournaments AND SCORES HAVE TO BE EMAILED/TEXTED to league reps. Games not played by the cut off date could possibly eliminate your team from the tournament (if other teams have all games in and have a better percentage than your team).
Here are the dates that you must have 80% of your games played and texted or emailed in.

COMMISSIONERS –
Ohio’s Return-to-Play law.
**As of 4/26/13, the SCGSA will be implementing the following -
Ohio House Bill 143, Part 4 states: The athlete IS Not Permitted to return to play until they have been accessed and receive written clearance by a physician or by any other licensed health care provider approved by the youth sport organization. With this requirement to the law, SCGSA is stressing that it is each Charter’s responsibility to put in place a procedure by which a girl may return to play if she is suspected of having a concussion.

The Stark County Girls Softball Association (SCGSA) is a fast-pitch girl's softball league that has been in existence since 1973. The league started with approximately 20 teams and has grown to over 120 teams. This is a summer league that runs May through July with five age divisions of 8 and under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15-18 followed by a Tournament Playoff at the end of the season. Every year we average 12 to 16 girls per team, which means that each summer there are 1400 to 1600 girls that are actively involved in our program. The SCGSA helps build character and leadership qualities in girls who participate by allowing them to work in a team-setting among their peers. If you might be interested into playing FALL BALL, please look at the FORUM MENU as for who will be having a FALL BALL LEAGUE or SOFTBALL CLINICS
Since the SCGSA is a Stark County association, all cities, villages and townships in Stark County may participate in our program. Areas outside the county may apply and play in the league with approval. In 2009, we grew to 22 charters. The league is a roster ball organization and no "travel ball or hand-picked all-star" teams are permitted.
The SCGSA has been a feeder system for many local high school softball programs and is an excellent asset to our community. Our president, Grace Shanower, has led this association since its infancy. There are other elected officials who help Grace run the league, and yearly elections are held for all offices.
In 2008, we lost a very special person in our Association, Terry L. Murphy. In his honor, the Association has started the Terry L. Murphy Scholarship Award. We are going to award scholarships at our ANNUAL APPRECIATION DINNER in AUGUST for high school girls pursuing a higher education. Please see Handout section for the instructions and scholarship applications (under Terry L. Murphy Scholarship Award).
Our website also contains other information on the organization itself including rules, by-laws, maps, and the business minutes. You can also visit our other website www.e-teamzstarkcountygirlssoftballassociation. Our website is always being updated.
Coaches or parents are welcome to come to our associations meetings, which are held on every 4th Sunday of the month at 7 pm at the Greentown Athletic Club on Cleveland Ave NW. ASA Umpiring classes are held in the Spring, please contact Lynn Brooks for details.
