ATTN: Parents

This Thursday, the Swift Current Comp Highschool Colts are playing a game... "Under the lights!"  They're bringing in special lighting to play an evening game under the bright lights and want your support.  This Thursday, all SCMF players and their families are invited to the game free of charge if they're wearing their SCMF Game Jersey!  Game time is 7pm so it works out well to practice till 6:30pm, grab a quick bite to eat they head over!  Hope to See you there!

We're continuing to update the website daily.  Please visit often to check out new features.  Rosters and schedules are updated and available for printing so you can keep tabs with your favorite future stars on the football field.  (There are a few rosters still being compiled, if your team is missing, please check back later.)

Also... Please check out our newly updated photo gallery with pics from this year's Ribbon Cutting Ceremony as well as pics of our field crews hard at work.

During the season, all of our board members and coaches are busy working with your kids on the field in some fashion be it coaching, officiating or looking after our fields, facility and equipment.  With that in mind, it can be very difficult for us to compile photos of practices and games for our website.  If you have a great pic from practice or game action, please feel free to send it to us.  We may feature your pic on the site!  Thanks for contributing!  Email your pics to

Sunday, August 17th, 2014

Greetings parents,

Another year of exciting Swift Current Minor Football is here.  Monday night, (Aug 18th) from 6:30-8pm will be our final equipment pick up held at our new facility in the middle of Highland Park.

If for some reason, you're unable to attend please plan to have your child outfitted prior to the next few practices.

Practices begin this TUESDAY (Aug 19th) from 5-6:30pm.  We'll also be practicing WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY for out Bantam division... Just TUESDAY and THURSDAY for the Atoms and PeeWee players.

A reminder, that games and practices are now at our Highland Park facility... we'll no longer be playing or practicing at Riverside Park on the south side.

And also please remember the Jamboree this Saturday (23rd) from 8:30am to 11:30am.  We'll then be holding a lunch for the kids from 11:30am to 12:30pm.  It's critical your child attend this Jamboree since we will be evaluating the players and forming teams this day.

****NOTE**** The Atom division will feature a team playing and practicing out of Gull Lake this season.  Since this team is already formed players playing on that team aren't required to attend the jamboree but are welcome to join us for lunch if you'd like to.

It's going to be a great season!

SCMF Bantam League Changes for 2014

April 25th, 2014

If your child will be playing in our Bantam Division for the upcoming fall 2014 season please take note:

We're pleased to inform you of some exciting upcoming changes to our Bantam division this year.

Some of you may have already had some dialog with board member Tom Westbury about these changes but details are now finalized.

This year's Bantam league will consist of 1 travel team and we will be playing in the Moose Jaw Minor Football League.

The league consists of teams from Moose Jaw, Assinaboia and Weyburn.  We will be required to travel for some games but won't be going to Weyburn this year.  The plan right now is to play 3-4 games in Moose Jaw or Assinaboia. and 3-4 games in Swift Current.  Moose Jaw games will be Friday nights under the lights, while Assinaboia and Swift Current games would be Saturday afternoons.

SCMF will be chartering buses for the away games at a cost of approx. $1,200 per game which the league will absorb this year as this season will be a test year for the division and a feeling out process to see if it's not only a success, but financially viable.  There is a possibility an additional "team fee" will be added next year but for this season we will play at no extra cost to parents other than the original registration fee.

That said, we will require volunteers for a fundraiser at Boston Pizza, July 18th and 19th.  (at least 4 people per evening)  The remainder of the costs will be covered by sponsors, Swift Steel and Len's Plumbing and Heating as well as the league.

To stay competitive, this season will also see a change to the practice schedule with practices scheduled Monday's, Tuesday's and Wednesday's with a possibility of increasing to include Thursday nights as the season progresses.  (Moose Jaw league practices 5 times a week)

Our away schedule has yet to be determined however, home games have been set for Sept 20th, 27th, and Oct 4th.

Tom Westbury and Ivan Nickel will be the main coaches with a host of assistant coaches being a part of the traveling team.

At the moment, we only have 11 kids registered in the Bantam division however, 27 have confirmed with Tom they will be playing.  We ask that you please register your child as soon as possible so we have a better idea of what our team numbers will be.  You can register online at our website,

Any further questions can be directed to myself or Tom Westbury.

Thank you.
