Sissonville Basketball Sign-ups
The Sissonville Youth Basketball League is currently signing kids up for the upcoming season. If interested, please click the Basketball Registration Form to use for live registration Saturday October 24th or mail it in by that date.

Congratulations to the U10 Sissonville Fusion. They are the CHAMPS of the U10 Tourney in the mixed division!!!! The tournament is mandatory for all U10 teams in the Kanawha Valley Soccer League and was held this past weekend!!! GREAT JOB FUSION!!!!!!!

SSA FALL FUNDRAISERS
**UPDATE** THE LAST DAY TO ORDER ANY OF THE FUNDRAISER ITEMS IS SATURDAY SEPT 26th!!!! We do still have the drawstring bags in stock, those are not order items
The Sissonville Soccer Association will be selling some new and exciting items this Fall. The first new item we have are drawstring bags that we are selling for $5 a piece. We have black ones and red ones that say Sissonville Soccer, with a soccer ball picture. And we also other colors that just have the soccer ball and say SOCCER. The colors we have are purple, royal blue, orange, lime green and maroon. Click Sissonville bags or drawstring bags for pictures or go to the PHOTO ALBUM and select FALL FUNDRAISER items. The soccer teams will begin taking orders during the next week for the following items, click on each item to see a photo and prices: knit beanie; ball caps; cheer shorts; flannel pants; scarves and headbands; sweatshirt blanket; tote bag; windshirt.
Also we have now added tshirts, long-sleeve tshirts, crew neck sweatshirts and hoodies. Click shirt sample to see what the screen print will look like. All tshirts/sweatshirts are red with black screen print. Click here for an order form. Please print it off and turn in your order to your coach on or before September 18th.

IMPORTANT INFO FOR THE FALL 2009 Season
Lets play soccer!!!! The Fall season will be starting shortly. And your coaches will be receiving their rosters this week. PARENTS, WE DO NEED A COACH FOR A U4 team and a U7 team, if you would like to volunteer please contact Debbie Hughes at debbiehughes@verizon.net as soon as possible!!!!!
Here are some important dates for the Fall season:
August 24, 2009 - Practice CAN begin
September 12, 2009 - First game of the season
October 31,2009 - Final game of the Fall season.
Soccer Equipment Needs
What equipment will my soccer player need? Players will need cleats (NO toe cleats allowed), shin-guards and a soccer ball. This year, instead of only jerseys, all players will receive a uniform kit. This will include a jersey, shorts and socks. Soccer ball sizes are as follows: Size 3 = U4 thru U6; Size 4 = U7 thru 12; Size 5 = U13 and up.
FIRST ANNUAL SSA 3v3 Tourney
The Sissonville Soccer Association would like to thank the players, coaches, parents, refs and most importantly the volunteers that participated in our 1st annual 3v3 tournament. It was a great success for our first attempt. Next year we'd like to see an even bigger tournament! But we'll need MORE VOLUNTEERS and more teams of course!!!! The winners of the U12/U13Girls bracket were the Tropics . The winner of the U10 boys bracket were the CFC 2000. The winners of the U12 Boys were the Rowdies . CONGRATS to the winners!!!!
Soccer for 3yr olds
The SSA has a developmental team available for 3yr olds. This team is a U4 team and does NOT travel to play games. They usually practice once a week at the Sissonville soccer fields. The players do receive a Sissonville soccer jersey as part of their registration fee. To be eligible for the U4 team in the FALL of 2009, the child's birthday must fall between August 1, 2005 and July 31, 2006. Any questions please email president@sissonvillesoccerassociation.org. You can click HERE for the 2009/2010 seasons to make sure what age group your child will be in.
CLEATS, CLEATS, CLEATS
The SSA has cleats that were donated/given to us by parents (you know how fast those feet grow!). So we have cleats to share!! If you need a pair of cleats, please email tinaperdue@verizon.net or call 984-2944. Or if you have cleats you would like to donate.
Here are the sizes we have: 11, 1, 1 1/2, 2, 3, 4, 5 and a pair with pink trim that are size 1s. (more than 1 pair of some sizes) First come, first serve.
REFEREES
The Sissonville Soccer Association is in need of referees. You must be 12 years old to become a referee. If interested, please contact Dennis Carney at dcarney@ntelos.net AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
**Sissonville Soccer Assocation BOARD **
The Sissonville Soccer Association hold its monthly board meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7pm at the Sissonville High School. New members needed and visitors welcome. Please join us and help us make the SSA the best we can be for the children!!
