State Tournament @ Legion Field (Palmer, MA)

July 21, 2014

7/18/14 In the Titans, first game of the State Tournament and they were matched up against Falcons Baseball in Under 15 action. Falcons jumped on Titans for 2 runs early and opened up the game in the 3rd inning with a big offensive outburst. James Rocca of the Titans threw out 2 base runners at 2nd base. The Titans offense was led by Luis Santiago and James Rocca each had 1 hit in the game. Isaac Boston and Andrew Corley were the pitchers of record in this game. Falcons defeated the Titans by the score of 10-0.

 

7/19/14 In the Titans, second game of the State Tournament and they were matched up against the Agawam Elite in Under 15 action. Elite jumped on Titans for 5 runs in 3rd inning and Titans responded with 3 runs in the 4th inning of a game that went back and forth between both teams. Cormac Hayes made a great diving catch in rightfield in 2nd inning, when he laid out for a well hit line drive. Isaac Boston hit a missile to leftfield for a triple to spark the Titans offense in the 5th inning and drive in 2 runs. Ben Dunklee hit a moonshot to leftfield for a double in the 6th inning to continue the Titans rally on offense for an rbi. The Titans offense was led by Isaac Boston and Ben Dunklee with 2 hits; James Rocca, Vinny Buono and Noel Lopez each had 1 hit in the game. Luis Santiago, Vinny Buono and Jadon Archer were the pitchers of record in this game. Agawam Elite defeated the Titans by the score of 10-9.    

Titans U15 versus Indians

July 15, 2014

7/12/14 In the Titans semi-finals game of the JLS Playoffs, they were matched up against ABCS Indians at Forest Park #2 in Under 15 Action. Titans jumped on the Indians for a run in the top of the 1st inning, but the Indians responded with 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. Indians took advantage of youth and inexperience by pushing 6 runs across in the 2nd inning on some fielding miscues. The Titans offense was led Jadon Archer and Cormac Hayes each had 1 hit in the game. Jadon Archer and Andrew Corley were the pitchers of record in this game. Indians defeated Titans by the score of 13-1. Titans advance to the State Tournament, NEYSA dropped one of there berths.

 

 

Titans U15 versus West Side Wildcats (Chaput)

July 15, 2014

7/9/14 In the Titans, first game of the JLS Playoffs and were matched up against West Side (Chaput) at Van Horn Park in Under 15 Action. Titans jumped on West Side for 3 runs in the top of the 1st inning and were aggressive on offense the rest of the game. Vinny Buono made a nice catch on a well hit line drive up the middle in the 2nd inning for a double play. Isaac Boston hit a rocket to centerfield for a solo homerun to lead off the 3rd inning and get the Titans offense going, again. The Titans offense was led by Isaac Boston with 3 hits; Jadon Archer, Andrew Corley, Giovanni Figueroa and Mike Cruz with 2 hits; Luis Santiago and James Rocca each had 1 hit in the game. Luis Santiago went the distance on the mound for the victory. Titans defeated West Side by the score of 13-1 to advance in JLS Playoffs.

JLS Sandy Koufax: Titans U15

The Titans finished the regular season with an 8-8-2 record and placed 5th out of 10 teams in the A Division. For a 1st year team with all 13 year olds that was a sucessful season. The players had there special moments during the season where they shined and we weathered the storm during the tough stretch of games that we struggled as a team. The Titans advance to the playoffs with an opportunity to participate in the State Tournament!

July 15, 2014

7/1/14 Final Game of JLS Regular Season, the Titans were matched up against the Cyclones in Under 15 action. The Cyclones struck first with a run in the top of the 1st inning, but Titans responded with 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. Before both pitchers settled down and kept the offenses at bay. In the 7th inning, both teams brought some excitement to the game for fans on both sides. The Cyclones pushed the go ahead run in the top of the 7th inning, Titans responded in the bottom of the 7th inning to tie the game and left the winning run on 3rd base to end the game in a tie. The Titans offense was led by Jadon Archer, Vinny Buono, James Rocca and Cromac Hayes each had 1 hit in the game. Jadon Archer, Vinny Buono, Isaac Boston and Luis Santiago were the pitchers of record in this game. Titans and Cyclones played to a tie 6-6. 

Titans U15 versus Van Horn Venom

6/29/14 Seventeenth Game of JLS Regular Season, the Titans were matched up against the Venom in Under 15 action. In a tightly contested matchup through the early innings that was affected by a controversial call in the 5th inning that led to 2 runs for the Venom. The Titans offense was led by Isaac Boston, James Rocca, Deriel Velazquez and Eli Arroyo each had 1 hit in the game. Jadon Archer and Luis Santiago were the pitchers of record in this game. Venom defeated Titans by the score of 5-3. 

Titans U15 versus West Springfield Wildcats (Corkum)

July 15, 2014

6/28/14 Sixteenth Game of JLS Regular Season, the Titans were matched up against the Wildcats in Under 15 action. The Titans jumped on Wildcats for 3 runs in the top of the 1st inning and cruised to the victory. Vinny Buono threw a gem for 5 innings and kept Wildcat hitters off balance with 7 strikeouts. The Titans offense was led by Giovanni Figueroa, Luis Santiago, James Rocca, Cormac Hayes, Eli Arroyo and Noel Lopez with 2 hits each; Deriel Velazquez and Maike Cruz each had 1 hit in the game. Vinny Buono and Luis Santiago combined for the victory on the mound. Titans defeated the Wildcats by the score of 8-3.

6/27/14 Fifteenth Game of JLS Regular Season, the Titans were matched up against the Falcons in Under 15 action. The Falcons jumped on Titans for 3 runs in top of the 1st inning and used a big offensive outburst in the 3rd inning to coast for a victory. Titans hit the ball hard throughout the game but right at the Falcons players for easy outs. The Titans offense was led by Isaac Boston with 2 hits; Luis Santiago, Vinny Buono, Andrew Corley, James Rocca, Mike Cruz and Noel Lopez each had 1 hit in the game. Andrew Corley was the pitcher of record in this game. Falcons defeated Titans by the score of 10-2. 

Titans U15 versus Western Mass Rangers

July 15, 2014

6/26/14 Fourteenth Game of JLS Regular Season, the Titans were matched up against the Rangers in Under 15 action. The Rangers took advantage of walks and errors by Titans for 8 runs in the top of the 1st inning, then coasted to the victory. Isaac Boston of the Titans hit a moonshot to left centerfield for a 2 run home run in the 5th inning. The Titans offense was led by Isaac Boston, Luis Santiago and Deriel Velazquez each had 1 hit in the game. Cormac Hayes and Isaac Boston were the pitchers of record in this game. Rangers defeated Titans by the score of 10-2.

The Falcons jumped on Titans for 3 runs in top of the 1st inning, Titans responded with 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. Falcons pushed 2 runs across the plate in the top of the 2nd inning and coasted to the win. The Titans offense was led by Vinny Buono, Isaac Boston, James Rocca and Cormac Hayes each had 1 hit in the game. Luis Santiago and Giovanni Figueroa were the pitchers of record in this game. Falcons defeated Titans by the score of 14-2.

6/22/14 Twelveth Game of JLS Regular Season, the Titans were matched up against the Wildcats (Chaput) in Under 15 action. Wildcats attacked the Titans on offense in the 1st inning with 3 runs, but the Titans responded by pushing 4 runs across the plate in the bottom of the 1st inning. Before the pitchers for both teams settled down the rest of the game. The Titans offense was led by Giovanni Figueroa with 2 hits; Luis Santiago, Andrew Corley, James Rocca, Michael Cruz, Eli Arroyo and Noel Lopez each had 1 hit in the game. Isaac Boston, Vinny Buono and Luis Santiago were the pitchers of record in this game. Titans had a tie with the Wildcats and final score was 5-5.

6/21/14 Eleventh Game of JLS Regular Season, the Titans were matched up against the East Longmeadow Rockhounds in Under 15 action. The fireworks started early on offense for Titans with Jadon Archer and Luis Santiago leading the way for a couple of runs. Jadon Archer finished the game with 2 doubles and Luis Santiago had 1 double. Noel Lopez of Titans threw a gem for five innings and kept the Rockhounds off balance on the mound. The Titans offense was led by Jadon Archer and Luis Santiago with 3 hits; James Rocca with 2 hits; Vinny Buono, Isaac Boston, Andrew Corley and Deriel Velazquez each had 1 hit in the game. Noel Lopez and Luis Santiago combined for the victory on the mound. Titans defeated the Rockhounds by the score of 9-3.

6/20/14 Tenth Game of JLS Regular Season, the Titans were matched up against the Van Horn Venom in Under 15 action. The Titans got on the board in the 1st inning with a couple of runs against Kyle Cunningham of Venom. Luis Santiago made a nice stop on a well hit groundball up the middle for a double play to thwart a Venom rally in the 3rd inning. Isaac Boston hit a bomb to left centerfield for a triple in the 3rd inning. The Titans offense was led by Jadon Archer, Andrew Corley and Isaac Boston each had 2 hits; Vinny Buono, Giovanni Figueroa and Noel Lopez each had 1 hit in the game. Jadon Archer went the distance and threw a complete game for the victory on the mound. Titans defeated the Venom by the score of 6-5.

6/19/14 Ninth Game of JLS Regular Season, the Titans were matched up against the West Springfield Wildcats # 1 in Under 15 action. It was a dandy and a pitchers dual between Travis Chaput of Wildcats and Andrew Corley of Titans. Nice defensive plays and ESPN gems by both teams on the field. The Titans offense was led by James Rocca had 2 hits; Isaac Boston and Noel Lopez each had 1 hit in the game. Andrew Corley was the pitcher of record in this game. Wildcats defeated the Titans by the score of 4-3. 

Titans U15 versus Agawam Elite

July 3, 2014

6/17/14 Eighth Game of JLS Regular Season, the Titans were matched up against the Agawam Elite in Under 15 action. The Titans were aggressive early in the game by attacking the Elite and putting up 4 runs in the first 2 innings of the game. Elite responded in the 4th inning by pushing 5 runs across the plate and taking advantage of some miscues on the field. The Titans got a couple of double plays in the 5th & 6th innings to keep the game close. The Titans offense was led by Isaac Boston and Andrew Corley with 2 hits; Luis Santiago, Vinny Buono, Noel Lopez and Jadon Archer each had 1 hit in the game. Vinny Buono and Isaac Boston were pitchers of record in this game on the mound. Elite defeated the Titans by the score of 9-7.

6/14/14 Seventh Game of JLS Regular Season, the Titans were matched up against the Agawam Elite in Under 15 action. The Titans drew first blood in top of the 1st inning with 2 runs. Vinny Buono of Titans caught a well hit line drive up the middle and doubled up a runner at 1st base in the 1st inning. Giovanni Figueroa of Titans made a nice running catch in leftfield on a line drive in the 4th inning. The Titans turned in a tailor made double play from Mike Cruz to Luis Santiago to Deriel Velazquez in the 7th inning. The Titans offense was led by Jadon Archer, Luis Santiago and Noel Lopez with 2 hits; Vinny Buono, and James Rocca each had 1 hit in the game. Luis Santiago and Vinny Buono combined for the victory on the mound. Titans defeated the Elite by the score of 4-2. 

Titans U15 versus Indians

July 2, 2014

6/14/14 Sixth Game of JLS Regular Season, the Titans were matched up against the ABCS Indians in Under 15 action. The Indians drew first blood with a run in the 1st inning and capitalized on an error in the 3rd inning with the bases loaded for 3 more runs to coast to an easy victory. The Titans made a couple of nice defensive plays when Luis Santiago made a slow roller in the infield look easy with a toss to Jadon Archer covering 3rd base for a put out on tag and Jadon Archer turned in a double play from the mound when he pivoted to Vinny Buono at 2nd base, then threw to Andrew Corley at 1st base. The Titans offense was led by Luis Santiago and Noel Lopez with 2 hits; Jadon Archer, Andrew Corley and Giovanni Figueroa each had 1 hit in the game. Jadon Archer and Luis Santiago were the pitchers of record in this game. Indians defeated Titans by the score of 6-1. 

Titans Under 9 - Roberto Clemente

June 3, 2014

Titans Under 9 team consists of 5 and 6 year olds playing in Roberto Clemente B Division. At times the players look overwhelmed but are learning to stop the ball on the field and making contact at the plate. The pitchers are starting to throw more strikes now and developing, they are as follows: Davian Fuentes, Aiden Archeval, Nicholas Rocca and Jack Sullivan. Kaiden Sutton, Aiden Archeval, Nicolas Toledo, Jirai Fortilus and Keigan Suprenant have all put the ball in play. Noah Sierra, Armani Sierra, Nathaniel Fuentes, Kalib Lipkins and Celeste McCain have all made some nice stops during the year.

Although our record does not reflect the improvements the players have made during the season the Titans look forward to finishing up the season strong!

Titans U13 @ Cooperstown Dreams Park - 2013

August 3rd, 2013 . . . Opening ceremonies went off without a hitch on the Field of Dreams in Cooperstown, NY. They were a treat for fans, parents, players and coaches as each team marched onto the field and were introduced. After the ceremonies all of the players from respective teams were called out for the Skills Competition. The tournament for all respective teams commenced on August 4th, 2013.

On August 4th, the Titans played their first game against the Glen Rock Panthers (NJ) at 1:45 PM, which was on webcam. The Titans drew first blood with a run on offense in the first inning and erupted for eight runs in the third inning. The Titans offense was led by Luis Santiago, Vinny Buono, Andrew Corley and Jeremiah Rodriguez with 2 hits; James Rocca, Joe Roman and Cormac Hayes all had 1 hit each in the game. James Rocca threw out a kid at third base in the third inning to end the Panthers offensive threat. Luis Santiago went the distance for a complete game with 6 innings of work; he allowed 4 runs on 5 hits with 13 strikeouts for the victory. The Titans defeated Glen Rock Panthers by the score of 14-4.

In the Titans (1-0) second game on August 4th, they played against the Edina Hornets (MN) at 7:00 PM. The Titans struggled on offense and played poorly on the field in the lost to the Hornets. The Titans offense was led Luis Santiago with 3 hits and James Rocca with 1 hit in the game. The Titans did manage to turn in a tailor made double play from Santiago to Garcia to Corley in the first inning. Andrew Corley was the pitcher of record in this game. The Hornets defeated the Titans by the score of 10-4.

On August 5th, the Titans (1-1) played the Winter Park Diamond Force (FL) at 11:00 AM. In a tough match-up versus a very good and talented AAU from Florida the Titans struggled on offense and defense. The Titans offense got a jolt of life in the 4th inning from a 2 run blast to centerfield by Andrew Corley. The Titans offense was led by Luis Santiago, Vinny Buono and Andrew Corley each had 1 hit in the game. Vinny Buono, Joe Roman and James Rocca were the pitchers of record in this game. Diamond Force defeated the Titans by the score of 15-3.

In the Titans (1-2) second game on August 5th, they played against Southern California Crush Elite (CA) at 4:30 PM. The Titans wee aggressive on offense by pushing across 2 runs in the first inning and got an outstanding pitching performance from Nathan Garcia. The Titans came out swinging with 4 homeruns: Andrew Corley and Vinny Buono with solo shots, Mike Cruz with a 2 run shot to leftfield in the 2nd inning, Luis Santiago with a grand slam to centerfield in the 4th inning. The Titans offense was led by Vinny Buono and Andrew Corley with 2 hits; James Rocca, Nathan Garcia, Mike Cruz, Nick DeMaio and Luis Santiago all with a hit in the game. Nick DeMaio made an outstanding defensive play on a well hit ball off the wall in right centerfield by throwing a strike to Vinny Buono at second base, who then fired a perfect strike to James Rocca to throw out a runner at home plate. Nathan Garcia turned in a solid pitching performance on the mound by going the distance with 6 innings of work; he allowed 2 earned runs on 6 hits with 6 strikeouts for the victory. The Titans defeated Crush Elite by the score of 9-6.

On August 6th, the Titans (2-2) played against the Pine Bush Bombers (NY) at 11:00 AM, this game was on webcam. The Titans got rocked and lit up in this matchup cause everything the pitchers served up was hit hard, looked like the Bombers were competing for the best lazor show shots at Dreams Park. Andrew Corley and Vinny Buono hit solo shots in first inning, Mike Cruz hit a 2 run jack in the second inning. The Titans offense was led by Luis Santiago, Vinny Buono, Andrew Corley, James Rocca and Mike Cruz all with a hit in the game. Joe Roman, Mike Cruz and James Rocca were the pitchers of record for the Titans. The Bombers defeated the Titans by the score of 18-6. 

In the Titans (2-3) second game on August 6th, they played against the Mountain West Highlanders (Utah) at 4:30 PM, this game was on webcam. The Titans came out swinging and aggressive in the early innings of this game. Vinny Buono led the fireworks on offense with a grandslam to centerfield in the 5th inning. The Titans offense was led by Vinny Buono with 3 hits; Luis Santiago and Joe Roman with 2 hits; Cormac Hayes, Andrew Corley, Mike Cruz and Trey Darling all with a hit each in the game. Cormac Hayes came through with a gutsy performance on the mound against a scrappy Highlanders team by going 5 innings, he allowed 3 earned runs on 9 hits with 4 strikeouts for the victory. The Titans defeated the Highlanders by the score of 11-7.

On August 7th, the Titans were advised by the Field of Dreams Tournament Directors and Staff that we would be playing our playoff game on Field # 14.  

In the first game of the tournament for the Titans (3-3), they would be playing against Mount Prospect Mavericks (Illinois) at 12PM. In a slugfest that went back and forth throughout this game, both teams scored every inning against each other. The Titans and Mavericks matched each other with a big hit or run scored in each inning. The Titans continued it's onslaught of home runs in the past 2 days with 5 home runs in this game. Luis Santiago had 2 home runs, Vinny Buono and Nathan Garcia with solo shots, James Rocca with a 2 run blast to left centerfield. The Titans offense was led by Luis Santiago, Andrew Corley, Mike Cruz, Nick DeMaio and James Rocca with 2 hits; Vinny Buono, Jonathan Champagne, Davion Bryant, and Nathan Garcia each with 1 hit in the game. The Titans got an outstanding defensive play from Davion Bryant who threw a perfect strike from rightfield wall to James Rocca at home plate to throw out a runner in the 5th inning. Vinny Buono, Andrew Corley and Nathan Garcia were the pitchers of record in this game. The Mavericks defeated the Titans by the score of 15-14 and eliminated them from the playoffs!

During the last 2 days of the tourney the Springfield Titans put on a power display by hitting 13 home run's. The Titans batted .394 as a team with 14 HR's and 55 RBI's, along 3 Sac Bunts that were important in 2 games during the week. The following players had an outstanding week on the offensive side of the ball: Luis Santiago batted .800 with 3 HR's and 11 RBI's, including a grand slam; Vinny Buono batted .625 with 5 HR's and 14 RBI's, including a grand slam; Andrew Corley batted .600 with 3 HR's and 9 RBI's; Mike Cruz batted .545 with 2 HR's and 6 RBI's; James Rocca batted .461 with 1 HR and 6 RBI's and Nick DeMaio batted .500 with 2 huge sacrifice bunts and 2 RBI's.

On behalf of the coaching staff for the Titans, I would like to say we are proud of each and every one of the players on the team for exceeding all of our expectations in Cooperstown Dreams Park against some of the best teams throughout the United States. The Titans would like to thank all of the parents, fans, relatives and friends that came to Dreams Park rooting for us all week.

On June 4th, 2012 Officer Ambrose was responding to a Domestic disturbance call. A part of America is gone, but we will NEVER forget. When the day is over and you’re laid to rest, we will salute you and carry on. Please know that we will try our best to be half the officer you were. Thank you for your great sense of gratitude and humor, we will cherish your memory forever. God Bless You, Officer Ambrose!!!
