UPDATES FROM BROTHER RICE:
BIG HIGH SCHOOL BOYS VOLLEYBALL MATCHES COMING UP! Brother Rice plays Catholic League rival Providence at Brother Rice on Tuesday, May 5th. JV and Varsity Games are at 5:00 and 6:00 PM in the South Gym while the Freshman A and B games will be in the North Gym at 5:00 and 6:00 PM.
ANNOUNCEMENTS!
1) Two Chicago Catholic League Volleyball Tournaments will be played at Brother Rice this year:
- NEW! Freshman B Tournament Championship on Tuesday, May 12th
- Junior Varsity Tournament Championship on Thursday, May 14th and Saturday, May 16th

UPDATED! BROTHER RICE SUMMER VOLLEYBALL CAMP ANNOUNCEMENTS:
3) Br. Rice WILL host a sand volleyball camp at Klein Park (CIrcle Park) at 97th and Homan in Evergreen Park the weeks of July 13th-17th and July 20th-24th, 2009 for both grade and high school boys and girls. Also, the 17th Annual Brother Rice Indoor Summer Boys' Volleyball Camps will take place the weeks of July 27th-31st and August 3rd-7th.

MEN'S COLLEGE NEWS:
- Congratulations to Head Coach Bill Gleeson- SSBVL and Br. Rice alum- and the St. Ambrose University Men's Volleyball Program for being selected to host the 2010 and 2011 NAIA National Men's Volleyball Championships on their campus in Davenport, Iowa! More will follow as information becomes availalbe.
- Coach Gleeson from St. Ambrose and Br. Ickes from Br. Rice have begun discussion and work on hosting a Chicagoland Collegiate Challenge for Men's Volleyball- similar to the women's tournament held at McAuley this past September- sometime in winter, 2010. More information will follow as the tournament takes shape.

ATTENTION JUNIOR VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS- EXCITING NEWS ABOUT SAND VOLLEYBALL!
1) USA Volleyball- Great Lakes Region- will sanction a junior (grade and high school boys and girls) sand volleyball season beginning around June 1, 2009.
2) In addition, 3 high school conferences- The Chicago Catholic League, The East Suburban Catholic Conference, and The Central Suburban League- are in the investigation and discussion stages of looking into possibly sanctioning sand volleyball as a conference, interscholastic sport at some point in the future. More information will be available here, at Br. Rice's web site www.brvolleyball.com , and at the USA Volleyball Great Lakes Region web site www.greatlakesvolleyball.org .
