2017 SYO Updates - Softball and Cal Ripken Leagues
We would like to update everyone on a couple new developments for the 2017 season.
SYO is excited to announce a new approach with our Cal Ripken Junior League. The Cal Junior League will be using a draft to determine teams in 2017. The ultimate goal is to create a more competitive league and having a draft will help coaches divide players more evenly by current skill level.
Our Cal Ripken Junior league closely mirrors our Cal Ripken Senior league, where players pitch and play on the same field (with similar rules). We have always done a draft at the Cal Senior level. Our Instructional League (coach pitch) and Rookie League (machine pitch) will continue to make rosters based off of school attendance.
*For 2017, ALL Cal Junior players will take part in the evaluations and draft.
*Cal Junior Tryouts have been set for Sunday, April 2, 12:00-4:00, at Superior High School. Age groups will be split - more details to follow.
*Cal Senior Tryouts have been set for Sunday, April 9 12 - 3 at Superior High School
*Please continue to help spread the word on registering for summer baseball and softball before our March 31 deadline and Thanks for choosing the SYO!

2017 Spartan Baseball Youth Travel Team Camp Announced
The purpose of this extended camp is to provide skill building opportunities for those individuals and teams that are more serious or excited about baseball. This camp helps cater to those looking to take their skills to the next level by giving them a chance to get a head start on the upcoming season. We believe that this format will help our youth travel teams become even more competitive and successful.
Each week participants will be given opportunities to work with their travel team coaches and SHS players and coaches in a variety of stations designed to build their skills over the course of eight consecutive Sundays in February and March.
