Established in 2006, under the direction of Garett Teel and his instructors, the Ravens travel teams have become the benchmark in Bergen County for elite baseball instruction. Our organization started with one team and has expanded to include every age division from 8U through high school showcase teams. The focus of the Ravens program is to build confidence and success on the baseball field by teaching the players the fundamentals of the game along with sportsmanship and teamwork. All of our coaches have been professionally trained by Garett Teel, who played and coached for the Los Angeles Dodgers and has developed a proven method of training. Many of his former clients have gone on to play on college and professional teams.
The Rooks program was established and is designed to develop and instruct players who are looking to play town travel level baseball. We want every boy to have the opportunity to play and be successful on the baseball field. The Rooks players get the same high caliber instruction as our Ravens players and the same high caliber coaching. Our philosophy is to give young players good information with good coaching and provide the players the opportunity to execute on the baseball field.
8U-14U Spring/Summer Teams
We will be forming a new 8U team and will fill any open roster spots we have on our 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, and 14U teams for the spring. 12U team will be attending Cooperstown Dreams Park the week of July 23. Our 8U-14U teams play a combined spring/summer season. All players must commit to both seasons. Season cost information as well as general information about the season will be provided at the tryout. Not all tournament schedules are out yet and we are still setting the schedule so will not have any additional information until December. Training will begin the first week of January, with once a week winter workouts. All invited players will be required to pay the $375 winter workout payment immediately upon accepting a position on the team. Each season will include league games, one indoor and one outdoor practice a week and tournaments. Practice days and times will not be available until shortly before the start of the season.
Our instructional league teams, the Rooks, will also be playing in the spring/summer. These teams will be for those players, ages 7-12, who love the sport, want to play, but aren't quite ready for club level play. Emphasis will be on basic skill work and confidence building. We want to give every boy an opportunity to play. There will be no tournament play and all games will be local. Players who come to the Ravens tryouts and aren't ready for that level of play will be offered a chance to play with the Rooks. All Rooks players will participate in once weekly winter workouts starting in January.
