 BCYB is excited to present another competitive season of youth basketball. Our goal is to create an atmosphere of fun for all participants and their families, while emphasizing the keys to a healthy lifestyle. This season is bound to create many memorable moments for you and your child to share together. BCYB is happy to be the facilitator of these once in a lifetime memories. Thank you for your participation and continued support, we look forward to seeing everyone on the court and in the stands!

 

  • COACHES NEEDED! Contact DIVISION DIRECTORS by email on website. History proves that the season doesn't start until the you folks in the community VOLUNTEER. Don't waste time, you that we need you! Please!

 

  • COACHES CERTIFICATION @ CHATIGNY COMMUNITY CENTER

           6:30pm-8:30pm, Tuesdays, Oct 10, 17, 24; Nov 7

           Coaches, choose a date to attend and please be on time! 

             

  • We kick the season off with OPENING DAY! FUN EVENTS! Saturday, Nov 18, 10am – 2pm, Basketball Free Throw & 3pt Contest! Trophies, FREE food & lots of PRIZES for kidz to WIN! Music by DJ

 

NOTE: CHATIGNY COMMUNITY CENTER STAFF WILL NOT ACCEPT BCYB REGISTRATIONs, but a BCYB Board Member will be there on Tuesdays ONLY starting Sep 5th from 6:00pm – 7:30pm

  • REGISTRATION FEE $140 per child. PAY by Check, Money Order, ATM, Cash 

 

  • ONLINE PAY & REGISTRATION available.

ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS!

Fees cover: uniforms, pictures, awards, T-shirt, insurance, facilities, restocking, officials, books & clocks, general operations, maintenance

 

Note: Season is from Dec 1st – Feb 24th, 10 Games & then the “Winner Take All Playoffs week”!

  • Games: Rookies & D3Boys/D2Girls typically play on Fridays.
  • Practice Schedules - are determined by the COACHES who are all VOLUNTEERS. We attempt to practice the youngest kids earliest, and then all others typically follow.

 

  • Practice starts the week of Mon, November 13, 2017** Start of practices vary, a coach will call you.
  • Games start Fri & Sat, Dec 1 & 2, 2017 (No games/practices on Holidays)

 

SPECIAL: CHRISTMAS BREAK OFF will be from 18-25 DEC.

 

No Playoffs for Regular Rookies! All GAME and PRACTICE Schedules are subject to change based on conditions.

 

BOYS BASKETBALL CATEGORIES

 

Rookies – 5-6 yrs (No Evals)

    Adv. Rookies 6–7 yrs (Yes-Evals)

    Division III – 8-9 yrs

    Division II – 10-11 yrs

    Division IB – 12-13 yrs

    Division IA – 14 yrs - HS

 

GIRLS BASKETBALL CATEGORIES

Rookies – 5-7 yrs (No Evals)

Division II – 8-10 & 11yrs non Adv

Division I – Adv 11 yrs – HS

Girls above the Rookies Level are mixed based on signups & experience.

  • All Divisions except (5-6yr) Rookie Boys & Rookie Girls, must attend one of the following evaluation dates below BEFORE YOUR CHILD can be PLACED on a team.

 

NOTICE EVALUATION Dates below! All evaluations will be at the CHATIGNY COMMUNITY CENTER

Even if you have PAID, missing evaluations WILL delay STOP your child from being placed on a team.

 

EVALUATIONS:

Girls & Boys Div. I, II, III & Adv Rookie boys candidates

Dates:   TUE & THU, Sep 26th & 28th

 Thursday, October 19th

Anytime from 5:30pm – 8:30pm

What’s Evaluated? (It takes about 10-15 minutes per child)

 

Passing, Dribbling, 2 & 3 Point Jump Shooting, Layups, Free Throws, Defense, Coordination, Physical Strength, Speed, Height Measurement

Beaumont Community Youth Basketball (BCYB) is a non-profit community organization that offers 500  children ages 5 thru High School the opportunity to participate in basketball. The league is open to children of all skill levels in the city of Beaumont and surrounding areas. Beaumont Community Youth Basketball strives to provide opportunities for personal growth and development of youth athletes, while reinforcing positive influences, self-confidence, self-esteem and the ability to excel on and off the court. BCYB is dedicated to educating and motivating each participating member while encouraging teamwork, sportsmanship and fun through the spirit of basketball. All of our directors, coaches, and staff are volunteers charged with always conducting themselves as ethical role models focused on the welfare of the children of our community.

Beaumont Community Youth Basketball has one primary goal: Reach as many kids as possible with constructive opportunities to participate in and learn the finer points of competitive basketball, as well as educational and cultural curricula to give them hope for a brighter future. We value FAIR PLAY through equal opportunities that consistently reinforce respect of all individuals involved; FUN by encouraging camaraderie and friendship; and, DEVELOPMENT of youth and their supporting networks. BCYB strives to educate and motivate each player to achieve their own individual level of success. Character development is stressed through teamwork and sportsmanship remembering that the primary goal is for the children to have fun!
