Pitch, Run and Throw Contest
Our MGSA member associations are pleased to offer the Aquafina Hit, Pitch and Run Competition. This is the first year that Major League Baseball has invited the Girls Softball side. Wouldn't it be amazing for one of our own to make it through?
The event will be hosted by Mississauga North, at Rivergrove Park, on May 1. The competition is open to any girl between the ages of 7-14 (as of July 10, 2010). The divisions are 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14. For further information or to register for this event please email mgsa@live.ca. Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.
There will be separate divisions, in preliminaries, for HL and Rep players with awards presented to winners in both before moving on to regionals. Great time to bring a friend along and try, at no cost, the sport we all love so much!

RIP Hogey
Our friend Dave Hogan has moved on to a bigger diamond.

Thursday, November 5, 2009
It is with much sadness and sorrow that I have to tell you that Dave has passed away.
He was only 65 years old and he had given about 30 of those years to Mississauga North and Peel-Halton. He was truly devoted to youth baseball and softball. Some of you know him only as a fastpich umpire, but he has also served as a coach, executive member and a baseball umpire.
I have many fond memories of umpiring with Dave. He took me under his wing when I first started umpiring and I will be forever grateful for the support he had given me.
Dave, Rest in Peace.
Richard
Director of Umpires
