GMC Champions!
 South Brunswick captured its 8th straight GMC Championship on Monday night by adding 2 more event titles and scoring an overall total of 122 points during the 2-day meet! The team had 20 athletes who contributed to the scoring, with many personal best and records set along the way. On the second day of competition, Aspen McMillan won the 100 Hurdles with a time of 14.36, a performance that equalled the school record! She also ran anchor on the winning 4x100 relay (49.30), where she was joined by Victoria Monteiro, Desirae Osley, and Rochell McDonald. Other medalists on day two were Julia Lekht, who took 4th in the triple jump (34-0.5) and 6th in the high jump (4-10); Danielle Padovano, 2nd in the shot put (36-2.5); Nateya Harris, 4th in the shot put (33-1.25); Elisa Meranchik, 4th in the 3200 (11:35.89 PR); Desirae Osley, 4th in the 200 (26.03); Zyjira Thomas, 5th in the 100 Hurdles (15.15 PR); and Denise Porter, 6th in the shot put (32-2.25 PR). SB Starts Well at GMCs!
South Brunswick had a strong first day of competition at the GMC Championships Friday night. The team scored in 7 of the 9 events, and had 14 athletes contribute to the scoring. The team was led by event winners in 3 events. Danielle Padovano won her 2nd straight discus title with her throw of 115-3! Lindsay Del Piano continued a 3-year streak of Viking wins in the pole vault with her season-best jump of 9-0! Aspen McMillan won the 100 dash in 12.41, a time that tied the sophomore class record! She also placed 6th in the long jump with a mark of 16-3.5. The Vikings also had two 2nd place finishes. Kristin Krier placed a close 2nd in the javelin (125-1), while the 4x800 team of Taiyana Madden, Carly Trill, Imani Man, and Jess Himmel ran a season-best time of 9:51.73. 3rd place performances were recorded by Brianna Del Piano in the discus (106-1 PR); Rachel VanDemark in the javelin (111-6 PR); Julia Lekht in the long jump (17-2); and Danielle Hecht, who tied for 3rd in the pole vault (8-6). In 5th place was Desirae Osley, who lowered her own freshman 400 record by 1 second with her time of 58.08! In addition, Nikki Cavett also placed 5th with her leap of 8-6 in the pole vault.
Class of 2013 Finishes Undefeated!
 The Lady Vikings defeated Old Bridge on Tuesday to clinch the Red Division title with a perfect 5-0 record in dual meets! It also means that the class of 2013 finishes undefeated in their 4-year dual meet career! The team was led by double event winner Julia Lekht, who captured the long jump (16-7) and the triple jump (33-7)! Other winners were:
- Zyjira Thomas in the 400 Hurdles (70.4)
- Victoria Monteiro in the 100 (13.2)
- Aspen McMillan in the 100 Hurdles (15.7)
- Carly Trill in the 800 (2:33.2)
- Desirae Osley in the 200 (25.8)
- Danielle Hecht in the pole vault (8-6)
- Jada-Rae Poku in the high jump (4-8)
- Danielle Padovano in the shot put (34-9)
- Kristin Krier in the javelin (120-9)
- the 4x400 team of Rochell McDonald, Monteiro, Emily Kaiser, and Taylor Lubov that ran 4:32.4
Other highlights were Daniella Izzo and Maggie Kaplan both jumping 7-6 to tie the freshman pole vault record!
