The West Mifflin Soccer Club offers 2 programs for players to participate in...

In-House soccer is restricted to kids born in birth years 2006 (u11) - 2012 (u5) and are a great way to introduce kids to the sport in a fun, developmental environment.  Practices are held throughout the week based on coaches availability and all games are held on Saturday mornings. Registration cost is $75 which includes a $20 up front payment for the clubs 50/50 raffle ticket fundraiser.  Uniforms are not included in this cost and can be bought as an entire kit (2 shirts, shorts, socks) for $25 or individual pieces can be order at their respective costs.

Travel soccer is available to kids as young as birth year 2009 (u8) and as old as 1998 (u19) is a more competitive level of play and will allow kids to begin taking the next steps in developing their game and ultimately preparing them for participation within our middle school and high school teams.  Most teams will practice 2 days a week with games on Sunday.  Most schedules include 8 games, 4 home and 4 away, with away games being played, mainly, at neighboring clubs facilities.  Your commitment level for travel soccer is expected to be higher than what it was for in house.

Volunteers Needed!

As you are aware, the West Mifflin Soccer Club is run, 100% by the volunteer efforts of those involved!!  The WMSC is looking to build its volunteer base and we need your help!

Our recently completed fall 2016 season saw the club have almost a 200% increase in enrollment over the prior fall season and we are expecting between 200-250 kids for the spring.  Unfortunately we haven't seen proportionate increases in our volunteers.  This was most noticeable within our in house program. Our over sized rosters during the fall season were a direct result of not having enough coaches to field the additional teams that were warranted based on enrollment.  Fortunately the coaches did a tremendous job juggling the rosters and made sure all kids played an adequate amount of time.  In an ideal situation, we would have 7-9 kids per team depending on age group.  In the fall we fielded some times with as many as 13 or 14 kids per team while only being able to play 5 or 6 on the field at a time.

We are currently looking for volunteers in a number of different capacities.  Please see below for some available options...

  • In-House coach - 1 practice a week which the club can furnish you with drills or provide sources to find your own drills, and 1 game a week.  Total time committed about 2 hrs a week.  Kids at this level often times care more about having fun and being with their friends than they do about winning and losing. Basic knowledge is more than adequate for this level and can be acquired from a 5 minute conversation with our coaching director. As simple as this position is, it is also our most important. It goes without saying, no coaches, no teams, but coaches also play an important  rule in keeping the kids excited about the sport and their participation.  Please use the "contact info" link and contact our coaching director, Derek Ross with interest!!
  • Grounds Crew - With the opening of our new complex comes with it additional responsibilities as a club. We are now solely responsible for the upkeep of the grounds including cutting the grass, trimming around the fences and parking lots and keeping the grounds free and clear of garbage and debris.  The club has purchased a riding tractor and will furnish all necessary equipment but we need people to step up and assist with keeping up with these things, even throughout the summer when we have completed our season.  Anyone interested is assisting, please use the "contact info" link to the left of the page and contact Justin Johns!
  • Administrator - We are looking to add a few administrators to assist with organizing and running club events and activities.  This is another example of needing additional hands on deck to assist with the growing number of programs and initiatives we as a club are preparing to undertake in an effort to provide the very best opportunity for our club members! Over the last year we have introduced many new programs and events including our indoor program, Night at the Races fundraiser and free pre-season camp and we have tons planned but our current group only has so many hands and there are only so many hours in a day!! If you have any interest in assisting the club in this capacity, please use the "contact info" link to the left side of the page and contact Tim Jeffrey

We thank everyone in advance for your continued support and assistance with making this season the very best yet!

Monthly Meetings

October 16, 2015

All,  as part of our reorganization we are committed to a more open line of communication with parents, coaches and players.  It is for this reason that we will be holding monthly member meetings following our board meeting.  Meetings will be held on the second Sunday of the month at 7pm.  Meetings will be held at Skyview Firehall.  Please plan on attending.  This will be the first opportunity to get information first hand and will give everyone a platform to be able to have open discussions about the club.  Our first meeting. Will be Sunday November 8th.

See everyone there!
