Who are the West Seneca Warriors?

The West Seneca Warriors are the travel arm of the West Seneca Youth Baseball Association. We have teams at the 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U 13U and 14U level. The mass majority of the boys who play for the Warriors are West Seneca kids who attend West Seneca Schools. We do have a few boys from neighboring communities who recognize excellence and have decided to bring their talents to the Hamlet of Ebeneezer.

To best illustrate the town and school district we represent the Warriors have elected to wear the Blue of West Seneca West and the Green of West Seneca East. The name Warriors was selected to pay homage and respect to the Native American people who were this area's earliest inhabitants. We will carry that name with great pride and play for our community.

The Warriors will play in some of the most competitive leagues and tournaments in Western New York. Our teams will compete in the Boys of Summer, Clarence and Southtowns leagues. Come tournament time we will travel from Rehoboth Beach, DE to Lewiston and make the baseball pilgrimage to the baseball mecca of Cooperstown. While winning is important and competing crucial, it will be learning which is essential to everything we do. Starting with winter practices in the gym, taking BP in the cage and eventually hitting the diamonds, the coaches of the Warriors will be teaching the fundamentals of baseball. Sportsmanship, teamwork and developing grit will be atop a long list of goals we have for our teams.

Our teams are managed by veteran coaches who all have experience coaching at both the House and Travel level. They are:

8U: Pat Gallagher

9U: Tim Boyd

10U: Anthony Riccio

11U Warriors: Kevin Guzzo

12U Warriors (West:) Vince Vanderlip

12U Warriors (East:) Mike Broad

13U Warriors: Ricky Albano

14U Warriors (West:)  Brian Lawrence

14U Warriors (East:) Mike Broad

The Warriors have a fantastic group of boys and young men making up each of these teams. However, the real driving force behind the success of our program are the parents of our players and the wives of the coaches. Without their support, patience and understanding, none of this is possible.
