Now that the Giants have been crowned World Champions, the 2014 baseball season has officially come to an end. However, the West Seneca Youth Baseball Association is already gearing up for the 2015 season. West Seneca Youth Baseball is under new leadership and is excited to take baseball in West Seneca to the next level. Interim WSYBA President Vince Vanderlip, along with remaining Board of Director members: Ricky Albano, Don Borkowski, and Russ Campise are seeking individuals interested in joining the board. This new leadership team will have the opportunity to craft a plan for moving youth baseball in West Seneca forward. Anyone interested in joining the Board of Directors may send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. In turn we will send you a Board application.
The mission of the WSYBA is simple, yet comprehensive. We seek to provide elementary, middle and high school aged student athletes with an organization that strengthens their sense of community, fosters the development of lifelong relationships, encourages a healthy lifestyle, and promotes learning, enjoying and respecting the game of baseball. This mission cannot be accomplished without the hard work and dedication of volunteers joining our organization as board members, coaches, or team managers.
The WSYBA is aiming to improve in the following areas:
· Public relations
· Managing resources
With these goals in mind, our first order of business is to a “Community Conversation” on baseball in West Seneca which will be an open forum for coaches, parents and community members to discuss plans for the 2015 season and beyond. This event will take place on Thursday, December 4th at 7pm. in West Seneca West Elementary School Library located at 1397 Orchard Park Road. The remaining Board of Directors will present their set of ideas, be seeking feedback, and hearing ideas from all stakeholders.
The WSYBA belongs to the players, parents, coaches and community members who support baseball in West Seneca. The role of the Board of Directors will be to develop, organize, and manage a league which maximizes opportunities for young people to learn and participate in the great game of baseball. We will work to manage resources so that our players and coaches have the best experience possible. We will conduct business in a transparent manner so our Town officials, partnering sponsors and parents see where their investment in our organization is being put to use.
While travel baseball has become more and more popular, the house program is the core of WSYBA and where we will be focusing our energy. We ask that any parent who had a child, any coach who helped a team or anyone else interested in joining the collective effort to build a better baseball program in West Seneca please come to the Community Conversation on Thursday, December 4th at 7pm. in West Seneca West Elementary School Library. This forum is open to anyone with an interest in youth baseball in West Seneca. While it is not necessary to RSVP, that would be helpful. Please send your RSVP to email@example.com.
