York County Flag Football is a co-ed league that encourages teamwork, sportsmanship and healthy activity.  Flag football is a great introduction to sports in general.  Our focus is on teaching, not winning, although we are a competitive league.  Being a spring sport, it is also a great way to shake off the winter blues and become active again.

We welcome players from all over York County between the ages of 5 and 16.  Every child is treated equally and taught the same set of skills.  Our coaches work hard to ensure that each athlete is given every opportunity to put these skills to use during practices and on game day.

We are proud to be a part of the NFL Play 60 program.  The game basics are:

• Two twenty minute halves
• Game play is 5 V 5
• The clock stops only for timeouts
• Halftime is five minutes long
• Each time the ball is spotted, a team has 30 seconds to snap the ball
• Each team has one 60-second time out per half
• No blocking or “screening” is allowed at any time
• Ball carriers MUST make an effort to avoid defenders with an established position
• Defenders are not allowed to run through the ball carrier when pulling flags
• All players are eligible to receive passes (including the quarterback, if the ball has been handed off behind the line of scrimmage)
