WINTER COLLEGE CAMP:

FRESNO STATE CAMP DECEMBER 14-15, 2013

*It was a great camp that had about 45 players from all around the state, Socal Choppers, Firecrackers(nor, south), Nemesis, etc etc. But, our girls that showed up to the camp stood out more than any of them.  Both girls played first, 2nd, 3rd, short, and one pitched also. They played entire game and every inning on different spots. Why? because they were the only two that knew how to play every position and the rest only knew one position. College coaches asked for help to play other infield positions since they had so many in two spots only. So our two girls stepped up to the plate and volunteered.   That is how our 13 players play and standout among the crowd, and thats what makes them voluable to our team....

Great Job Ladies!  5-0, but this are just scrimmages, wins and losses don't matter.  Winning all five back to back games made you ladies gladiators.  To win all all your games with only ten players against against all odds; very good ASA and NSA competition, very hot day, and being tired.  It's a great mental achievement.  This back to back games will get us ready Mentally for those big tournaments (RR gold, Force Classic, Triple Crown, etc).    On Sundays we plan on winning games, we will not go one and out.

Great job AAliyah (p), Daisha (short), Ellyssa (C), Lexi (2nd), Leslie (U), Tea(U), Jocelyn (lf), Brianna (Cf),  Great Defense and Offense.

Missing in action:  Brianna, Ali, and Elyssa

We will like to thank all 18 teams that made our friendly possible this past Saturday.  We will like to thank Parks recreation and Madera South High School for supporting Madera Destroyers by giving us permission to rent fields.

Great job 14u-Cuevas Destroyers.  We are playing  at a very high level, even when you guys dont play your  starting positions.  Shortstop playing outfield, 3rd baseman catching, 1st baseman playing 3rd base, 2nd baseman playing outfield, and outfield playing infield. Our pitchers where throwing alot of fastballs only  to let defense work. Even coaches where not where they belong.  Head Coach in dugout, while assistans took over.  This teammates trust each other, this is why they have lasted three to five years together.

Philosophy about scrimmages/friendlies:

This practice games are not about winning, but about practicing real game situations.  "As an athlete I have lost almost every scrimmage, but won many championships" jc

UC BERKELEY CAL BEARS SOFTBALL Showcase

On January 27, 2013 one of our California Destroyers 14u-cuevas players attended the showcase at Cal Bears home field.  Displaying there talent in a scrimmage against some of the other players in attendance from the California Breeze to Tri-County Smash players.  Represented California Destroyers very well.  Amongs the youngest  in a much older field, age did not make a difference.  2 for 2 hitting, and alot of strikeouts.  Coaches had her  playing short, 2nd, and pitching.  Great job Aaliyah...

FIRST INVITATION TO A COLLEGE SHOWCASE FOR OUR YOUNG 14U TEAM

Great job this past weekend ladies.  Your first college showcase and one of the toughest.  We competed against some tough competition Salinas Storm, Reno (Nevada) Comets, Foothill Gold, and Nor CAl Stompers.  For our young squad to compete against this older competition is great.  When we move up to 16u in another two years, I expect this team to be more dominant then the 16u teams we faced.  Lets get ready for our next showcase.  Lots of conditioning this next two months to get you ladies stronger....

2013 SHOWCASE ROSTER:    PLAYER PROFILE (COMING SOON)

END OF THE YEAR DESTROYER PARTY

Madera Destroyers Staff hosted one of the biggest party in Destroyer history. We invited all the four teams 10u, 12u, 14u-cuevas, 14u-dillard. And did they show up, 250+ strong. This says alot about our family oriented organization. As one group, we raised the money to make this happen. I will like to thank everyone in our organization and coaches for there hard work and dedication. Let's make 2013 even bigger.

THANKS TO THE MADERA CITY COUNCIL

Madera Destroyers Organization will like to thank the City Council:

I attended the City Council meeting to request a reduction in park fees rates for our organization. The City Council stepped up to the plate and reduced our fees. This will impact not only our teams, but every team that wants access to the park softball fields. Thanks again.

Rr Gold Memorial Day Shootout RESULTS!!!

We said we wanted to compete against Northern Californias tough teams and we did. We beat very good teams like San Jose TABU, STRIKEZONE team, Vallejo Hurricanes, and went head to head with MODESTO CRUSADERS.

We beat Strikezone, a team that won alot of games at the ASA Force Classic Tournament. We lost in overtime and almost beat Modesto Crusaders, who won First Place at The Force Classic Tournament.
The Force Classic Tournament is an ASA "A" ball tournament that has about 40+ teams in each division from all around California and other states.
Madera Destroyers are at the level of competition of all Elite teams.

The coaches and players learned alot this weekend. The first day, we were not prepared. The second day, we stepped it up and played like we play. The final day, we competed and finished strong.

Monday Championship
Vs Tabu. Won 12-3
Vs Modesto crusaders. Lost in overtime, International Tie Breaker.

They Helped there 7th Grade Thomas Jefferson Middle School win championship going undefeated against 12 (7th and 8th) grade teams. We faced 12u and 14u pitchers and players from the Dirt Dogs, Lady Grizzlies, Krush, Kerman Heat, and more. There was good competition, but our girls prevailed.

Great Job Destroyers going 3-0 in Madera Tournament GOLD Division

RAIN RAIN kept us from winning the Gold Division Championship in Madera. 9 teams from Bakersfield to Tracy arrived in Madera to claim Championship, but Madera Destroyers dominated the competition. We beat the CC Fury, Venom, and Liberty from up north. We received medals once again.

Aaliyah: Had amazing day at the mount, pitching a PERFECT game not allowing anyone to get to first base, 24 strikeouts in two games. Great job at bat, one homerun a game bringing runners in everytime and scoring a monster homerun over the fence and out of the ballpark.

Katie did a great job pitching the entire 2nd game, finishing strong with 9 strikeouts and did great at bat.

Liandra and Maddie did an awesome job behind the plate becoming a wall for there pitchers. I saw big time improvements from both of you. Keep improvement as our pitchers keep getting stronger.

Triniti, Lexi, Ally, Jessica, Meranda, Leslie, Nina, Brianna and Hollee did a great job all around. Baserunning was awesome, strong hitting, and great fielding.

Madera Destroyers Won The Merced Kickoff with a record of 5-0

We are undefeated Champions. We went 5-0 this weekend in Merced. We beat the (OBS Monarchs) in championship (7-3).

Aaliyah and Katie did a great job pitching. Aaliyah was sick throughout the tourney, but still managed to pitch the championship game, score three homeruns and a monster homerun with two girls on base in the championship game . Katie helped Aaliyah throughout the tourney. Katie had a lot of strikeouts and was hitting very good.

Lexi, our starting 11 year old 2nd baseman became the catcher for Aaliyah in the championship game. In the past five years she has never caught before. This was her first time becoming a wall for her pitcher.

Leslie, Jessica, Nina, Liandra, Trinitii, Meranda, Hollee, Ally, and Brianna all did an outstanding job, regardless of the position they played.

We had 6 eleven year olds start the championship game. We won without some of our veterans, whom are injured.
So just imagine when we have all of our girls!!!!

Great Job ladies!!!!!!!!

Madera Destroyers 12u Player was only one invited to meet the entire staff at Fresno State. Aaliyah was only travel player in attendance to meet team and watch intrasquad scrimmage, and take first pictures of season. There was no other travel player from any team in the valley in attendance. We were only ones there. Aaliyah Represented Madera Destroyers well.
