Ann Oravetz
#6 - RF (profile)
Ann is a long-time friend and teammate of Carol Andrews, as the two have played on the same softball team in the Newington women’s league for years.
Ann was first recruited by Carol to fill in with the taxmen during the 2005 Cove Cup, when previously planned vacations almost made it impossible for the club to field a legal team with the required amount of female players. In two games during the tourney, Ann played in the outfield, stroked 2 base hits, scored 2 runs, and had 2 RBIs. On the spot, she was invited to join the team on a more permanent basis, and two weeks later, had her best game with the taxmen in a win over the Brewhawks at DMV. Ann went 3 for 4, scored twice, drove in a run, and rapped a double.
Though she has a busy work schedule and family obligations, Ann continues to play with DRS whenever she is able. She returned to the team in 2007, playing in 5 games.
Overall, in the past three years, Ann has played a total of 14 games, batting a solid .425 (17-40) with 14 runs scored. In a 2005 game against Acid Reign, Ann had the distinction of getting the 5000th base hit in team history.
