Sarah Kaufman
#4 - RF, 2B, C (profile)
Sarah first began playing with the taxmen in 2002 and has been a part-time player ever since, playing a total of 21 games between 2002 through 2007.
In the field, Sarah has played wherever the taxmen needed the most help, whether it be second base, catcher, or in any of the spots in the outfield.
Sarah brings an aggressive style of play to the team. In one of her very first games, against Hughes Health & Rehab at Elizabeth Park, Sarah reached base with a single. On the ensuing ground ball, she surprised the opposition, as well as her teammates, by sliding hard into second base, toppling the shortstop, and breaking up a double play. (League rules call for no sliding, but Sarah was either unaware of this, or chose to disregard it. Either way, the baserunner was safe at first.)
In the 2002 and 2003 campaigns, Sarah played in 13 games, batted .486 (17-35), and scored 11 runs. In her best game, the above-mentioned contest against Hughes Health, Sarah went 2 for 3, and scored three times.
Family obligations and a new home make it tough for Sarah to play in many games, but she remains a member of the team’s active roster.
