Scott Jambard

#22 - 3B, SS (profile)

Scott, along with Chrystal Urbani and Scott Gelineau, made up the group of new BETA Unit hires that took the field as DRS rookies in 2006.

His passing resemblance to the chairman and majority stock holder of World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. has led to the strapping young lad’s being nicknamed “Vince” or “Mr. McMahon.”

A basketball and baseball star in high school, Scott is a natural athlete who is slick with the glove and plays solid defense. With the taxmen, he’s spent his time in the infield, with equal time at shortstop and third base. In a win over Heavy Metal, Scott was busy, snaring two line drives and a pop-up, turned a double play, and took a pair of throws from the outfield in nabbing two baserunners trying to advance an extra base.

At the plate, “J-Rod” was slow to adapt to the high-arc, slow-pitch game, as previously, he had only ever played fast-pitch hardball. Sadly, his teammates would never see his hitting eye come around, as he suffered a shoulder injury early in the year, and never made back into the line-up.

On the season, Scott was only able to play in 3 games, in which he scored 3 runs and stroked a pair of base hits, including a double. It is hoped he returns to spring training to take up a more active role with the club in ‘07.
