Chrystal Urbani

#11 - C, 2B, RF (profile)

Chrystal was first hired by the agency in the fall of 2005, and joined the taxmen as a rookie during the 2006 season.

After previously playing softball in the Willimantic Coed Fall League, and having turned just twenty-two years old only days before the season began, the DRS captain hoped young Chrystal would bring some athletic ability and youthful energy to the club. But alas, with a frenzied schedule that had her taking night classes in addition to holding two part-time jobs, Chrystal was only able to play a third of the team’s games. As an unexpected benefit, however, her nighttime gig serving at the East Hartford Margarita’s presented the taxmen with an excellent spot for post-game dinners (as well as easy access to ‘complimentary’ pitchers of Sam Adams!)

A die-hard Red Sox fan, Chrystal ended up making more Sox games than DRS games in 2006, what with her trips to Boston and weekend getaways to both Baltimore and Toronto. She even made a fan of pitcher Kason Gabbard, who spotted her in the stands prior to a game, and came over personally to deliver an autographed ball.

With DRS, Chrystal has spent time as a catcher, second baseman, and right fielder. In 28 games, she's scored 17 runs, with 10 RBIs, and has 22 base hits.

Chrystal hopes to suit up with the taxmen more often in ‘08, but with a part-time job and more classes as she works on her masters, her teammates don’t expect to see her more than on a part-time basis. (Of course, no one expects her to miss the team’s planned bus trip to Fenway Park.)
