Jim Maisto
#31 - OF (profile)
Jim began playing with the taxmen during the 2001 season after hearing of the team from Mike Malone and George Duggan, fellow auditors from the 18th floor.
Jim is no newcomer to softball, having previously played in a number of leagues, as well as being a long-time ASA-certified umpire who officiates several games a week throughout the summer months.
Though he’s been labeled with no official moniker by his teammates to date, some have taken to calling him “the Maestro,” partly as a play on his last name, and partly as a reference to the odd character in one of the many classic episodes of Seinfeld.
While Jim may not be a true maestro, the outfielder has been able to make some sweet music swinging the bat as a member of the DRS team. Playing 17 games over 5 seasons, Jim’s batted .660 (35-53) while amassing 33 runs batted in, 31 runs scored, 4 doubles, a triple, and 9 homeruns. In his first outing, coming against DSSaster at Elizabeth Park in Hartford, Jim belted a homerun in his very first at bat with the club and ended up going 3 for 4 with 5 ribbies to lead the team.
