Amy Janco

#6 - 2B (profile)

Amy is the sister of DRS captain Jim Chakulski.

Amy was a steady player for DRS during the 2001 season, playing in 23 of the club’s 29 games. She did return to play with the taxmen during the 2002 Easter Seals Softball Weekend, but following a move further away from the Hartford area and the birth of son Jacob and daughter Mackenzie, she’s simply had no time to continue playing with the team.

Though she was good enough to play nearly anywhere on the field, she found a home at second base and still rates as the best defensive player at that position the taxmen have had. In the 2001 season, Amy made only 2 errors, a team record for second basemen and fewest of any of the DRS regular players in 2001. This was despite handling numerous tough chances that ranged from vicious line drives to tricky-hop ground balls.

At the plate, she was no power threat but could reach base on line drive singles and infield hits. She was very quick down the baseline, which led to her earning the nickname, "the Rabbit," from her teammates.
