Jeanine Jones

#6 - C (profile)

Jeanine had a short stint with the taxmen. She joined the team in 1997 as a part-time player and participated in only 3 games.

Jeanine had little, if any, softball experience before playing with the team, and was content to simply take up position behind the plate as the team’s catcher. However, there was one anxious time she was thrown into the outfield for a few innings when the team was shorthanded.

Though her tenure with the taxmen was brief, she left her mark on team history by reaching base and scoring the winning run (the only run she scored in her career) in a thrilling 11-10 win over Jury-atrics (Judicial Department). DRS had entered the final inning trailing by four, but rallied back to win when Jeanine scored on Earnest Baldwin’s walk-off single.

It was easy to spot Jeanine at the games she played, as she was always accompanied by her children and energetic Dalmatian, Polka Dot. A much too busy Jeanine still works at DRS, but has retired from her brief softball career.
