In four seasons as head baseball coach at Proctor High School, Coach Wojtysiak has a career record of 67-25 and a .728 career win percentage.

Wojtysiak has coached three All-State players (Justin Scanlon, 2011; Jake Lewis, 2012; Ben Nelson, 2013), and two Minnesota All-Star Series selections (Justin Scanlon, 2011; Ben Nelson, 2013).

The Rails qualified for the Section 7AA Playoffs Final Four for the fourth straight year in 2013, and were 11-7 overall.

In 2012, the Rails won their second consecutive Section 7AA Championship, and defeated Fairmont, 6-0, for the Third Place Championship in the Minnesota State Class AA Tournament. Proctor had defeated previously unbeaten Minneapolis Washburn, 1-0, in the quarterfinals before losing to defending state champion St. Cloud Cathedral, 9-8, in nine innings in the semifinals. The Rails defeated Cloquet, 9-2, in the Section 7AA championship game. The 2012 Rails were 19-7 overall and set 11 school records including hits (241) and batting average (.326).

Wojtysiak led the 2011 Rails to a 22-4 record, the best in school history, and their first section championship since 1976. Proctor defeated St. Anthony Village by a score of 4-1 at the 2011 Minnesota State Class AA Tournament, the first baseball state tournament win in school history. The 2011 Rails set 22 team school records.

In his first season at the helm of Rails baseball in 2010, Wojtysiak led the team to a 15-7 record. It was the most wins in a season for a PHS baseball team, breaking the 33-year-old record of 14 wins set in 1977. The 2010 squad set 14 other school records. The Rails reached the Section 7AA Final Four in 2010, losing to eventual section champion Cloquet in the semifinals.

Wojtysiak translates a wealth of baseball knowledge and experience from his playing days as a four-year starting shortstop at St. Scholastica (NCAA Div. III), where he earned a degree in management in 2009. Named the Saints' team captain in his senior year, he also earned All-Upper Midwest Athletic Conference honors. He received All-UMAC honorable mention in his junior year, and was also an All-UMAC Academic selection as a junior.

A 2005 PHS graduate, Wojtysiak was a two-time All-Lake Superior Conference First Team selection in baseball. At the conclusion of his prep career, he held school records in career at-bats, runs, hits, doubles, and saves. He also played football and basketball for the Rails.

Coach Wojtysiak is an agent with Reliable Insurance Agency in Hermantown. He and his wife, Jessie, reside in Pike Lake.
