Coach Summers believes that every child needs a mentor. Every child will benefit from a motivated business man who can share time with a younger person. He believes the best thing a mentor can do is listen and guide a young person in making good choices.
The following principles are at the core of my mentoring philosophy:
Respect - Every one deserves to be treated with respect and have his/her ideas heard.
Caring - it is important for kids to know that I care deeply about them and take coaching seriously.
Encouragement - I want to encourage the kids not to be intimidated in trying new ways of learning or bringing their ideas and perspectives to the table.
