Coach Grigsby knows and continually emphasizes the importance of developing strong individual basketball skills, being a good teammate and putting forth maximum effort at all times.
His basketball philosophy consists of the three C’s: Courage, Confidence and Commitment. Have the courage to make the play; have the confidence in yourself that you can deliver for your team; and commit yourself to continuously improving all aspects of your game. My basic coaching philosophy is simple, everyone must play, but time is earned. My staff and I must teach the kids to stay focused. We have to motivate them to work together so that we can stay together and hopefully this will lean toward a winning outcome. I emphasize that the team needs to come before individuals and we are in this together. This is a collaboration in which we sacrifice personal goals and glory for the good of the team.
Basketball does not build character ... it reveals it.
