John Bottone played baseball during his high school years with the Longwood Lions in Middle Island, NY from 1977-1981. He primarily played shortstop, right field and pitched. He later joined the U.S. Marine Corps where he continued to play for the USMC Bulldogs. With the Bulldogs he primarily played shortstop and third base. John later joined the New York City Police Department where he continued to play competitive baseball from 1990-1994. John’s love for the game later lead him into coaching Little League baseball.

He has been a Little League Head Coach for over 14 years in Long Island, New York and Weston, Florida. In 2012, John ventured into coaching USSSA travel baseball working with both Airo Athletics and the Weston Rattlers 10u teams. During his time with Airo Athletics he was given the opportunity to work along side MLB greats Jeffrey Hammonds, Cliff Floyd, Rondell White and CJ Johnson during summer camps.
