Coach Jared Verebey was a Bergen Catholic High School graduate in 2014. Coach Jared played his first year at Bergen Catholic as a freshman right-handed pitcher on the freshman team whom which came in 2nd place in the Bergen County Tournament. He then played 3 years of varsity baseball for Bergen Catholic, two of which were marked down as top seasons in Bergen Catholic history.

Coach Jared’s freshman year went very well gong 4-2 and had one of his biggest wins over Don Bosco Prep. He finished with a 2.43 ERA.

His sophomore year record, Coach Jared went 2-0 on varsity and 2-1 on junior varsity. His overall ERA was a 2.04 and Coach Jared also was awarded on Honorable Mention All League award.

Coach Jared’s junior year record was 5-0 and he also was the go to reliever in multiple games as well. Coach Jared earned a 1st team All League award and an All County award in his junior year and finished the year with a 1.98 ERA.

Coach Jared’s senior year was by far his best of the 4. His Bergen Catholic team was ranked 2nd in the county and in the top 30 in the nation. His senior year record was 7-2 on the mound and he recorded 60 K’s and 7 BB’s and an ERA of 1.11. Coach Jared was awarded a 1st Team All league award and an All County award.

Coach Jared was also drafted to the 2014 NJ State ALL STAR Game along with former teammate Jordan Attilio whom were both ranked in the top 100 players in the state of New Jersey in 2014. Coach Jared finished his Bergen Catholic career with a pitching record of 20-5 with a 1.91 ERA, 170 K’s and 22 BB’s.

Jared went on to be recruited to play Division III baseball at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Florham Park, NJ. He played 1 season of baseball there and then had the opportunity to play Division I baseball at Sacred Heart University where he played the fall season.

At that point, Jared decided to end his career to continue growing the Garden State Surge Baseball Organization, which he started at Bergen Catholic at just 16 years old. Jared still remains playing baseball in the NJABL Collegiate league in Bergen County for the Bergen Pirates who were 2015 and 2016 League Champions.

Jared has continued to complete his college career at Ramapo College of NJ and earn a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Management. He has gone on to build relationships with college coaches throughout the entire East Coast and branching out to the Midwest along with multiple Professional Baseball Organizations. Jared has generated a staff with high credentials of baseball, coaching and recruiting at high levels. Jared has continued to grow the GS Surge Baseball Club into an extremely well known player development, college recruitment and advisory organization. The reason Jared named the team Garden State Surge was due to the initials, GSS that stands for the organizations motto, Grow Strive Succeed.

Jared’s game plan through his credentials of college ball, coaching and recruitment gear his program toward the proper motions to be prepared academically, athletically, mentally and physically for the high school level, collegiate level and beyond.
