Raymond Maresca
Chief Operations Officer/College Recruiter
(201) 414-1721
Ray Maresca is a 2014 Bergen catholic graduate who lettered 3 years of varsity baseball. Coach Ray had a powerful bat and was the Crusaders 3 and 4 hitter all three years with an overall, career high school batting average of .405.
Maresca was a dominant catcher but also played the corner infield positions at times too. Behind the dish, he recorded his best pop time at a 1.89 and was constantly shutting the opposing teams running game down.
Maresca was extremely smart in the class room with a 4.0 GPA which was able to really bring his mental and physical game to the next level when it came to his recruitment. He was recruited by universities such as Wesleyan, Skidmore, Haverford, Columbia, NJIT and Manhattan.
Maresca ended up playing division 1 baseball and earned the starting DH job in the lineup and batted .478 for the year. Unfortunately, Maresca had a lower back injury that ended his career but he never left the game in which he still helped out the Manhattan College baseball program.
Maresca continued to stay focused in school in addition to coaching where he is a double major in math an economics with a minor in finance.
From a recruiting standpoint, he also remains close with all of the college coaches he was recruited by and more in order to help the Surge players have more potential options.
Coach Ray's ability gives him the opportunity to help players get a better approach at the plate, obtain better footwork in the infield, help catchers sharpen skills and quicken feet with vigorous drill work, teach in depth base running skills, and gear players toward healthy fitness and nutrition.
Overall, Coach Maresca's goal is to help players attain a mental approach to the game of baseball that they have never seen before along with showing players the hard work and dedication needed in order to make it to the next level.
