Coach Niederberger is entering his second season as Shaler Area's Head Varsity Basketball Coach.

Coach Niederberger was a graduate of North Allegheny where he along with Coaches' Mancuso, Wander, and Brungo led NA to 2 of its 3 WPIAL finals appearances.

Coach Niederberger was previously the Head Varsity Boys Coach at Burrell High School for 3 seasons from 2011-2013. At Burrell, he took over a struggling program that won 4 games in his first season. Their second season they got up to 10 wins, and in his final season they won the 2nd Section title in 30 years for the district, and made their first WPIAL finals appearance since 1979. It was also their first appearance in the PIAA playoffs in 30 years.

Coach Niederberger was also an assistant at Ambridge, Butler, and Vincentian.

Every coaching stop for Coach Niederberger has been a rebuilding job that led to success, and he is hoping and expecting the same results at Shaler Area.
