Juan Orozco

Varsity Head Coach

Coach Orozco began his coaching career in 1979 after graduation from UTEP. He was a teacher and a coach at Mesita ES, Guillen MS, Terrance Hills MS, and Montwood HS before returning to his alma mater, Coronado HS, where he has been a teacher and a coach for over 20 years. He has coached all three levels of baseball with great success! He was the Varsity Head Coach of CHS baseball from 1990-1994. They were district champions in 1991, 1992, 1993 and Bi-District Champions in 1994, Area and Quaterfinal Champions in 1992 and 1993, Regional Champions in 1992 and in the Texas State Final Four in 1992. That year, four of his players were named to the Texas All State team. He was inducted into the El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009 for his accomplishments. Coach Orozco moved to the CHS football program in 1995 where he continued his success with student athletes in the highly successful CHS football program. He was excited in 2012 when the opportunity opened in baseball for him to return to where it all began for him in baseball and have another chance to coach CHS Varsity Baseball. He is focused on the success of these boys on and off the field. He is supported by his family: wife, Barbara and his children Alexis and Nicholas.
