Mr. Swartz coached with Smithfield Youth Wrestling Club (SYWC) and Pin-2-Win Wrestling Club, as well as served as the SOVA Vice President.

John is a long-time member and served numerous terms on the Peninsula Wrestling Association (PWA) board, where he is currently the Vice President. He is also the Co-Director of the Virginia Duals National Invitational Wrestling Tournament.
