Kegan helped the Cardinals win back-to-back Conference and District championships. The 2013 Cardinals team set nearly every program record in school history (including wins, winning percentage and fielding percentage). Kegan received the following awards as a Catcher: 2x All-OCC, 1st-team All-District, 1st-team All-Metro and 2nd-team All-State. He was the Team MVP as a Senior and was selected to play in the Mizuno All-Ohio series. He was also the recipient of the Frank Cozze, Lt. Nicely and Provost scholarships.

Kegan grew his baseball knowledge through Big League Baseball School, where former Major Leaguers Dan Briggs and John Pacella took him under their wing. Here, Kegan was able to train with several Minor/Major League baseball players from a young age. Kegan caught players such as Phil Klein (MLB Rangers), Jackson Wolf (MLB Padres), Tim Rall (AAA Mariners), Jay Pacella (AA Astros) and many more. He played travel baseball for the Ohio Warhawks (where he was teammates with current MLB reliever Caleb Ferguson).

Kegan played collegiately at Otterbein University for 1 year before transfering to The Ohio State University. He joined the D1 Club Baseball team, hit over .300 and helped the Buckeyes win a Conference Championship in 2016. He also appeared in 3 games on the mound with a 3.54 ERA. Kegan graduated from The Ohio State University in 2019 with a Bachelors in Economics and is currently ending his Masters of Teaching program at Muskingum University.

Kegan resides in Worthington with his wife Kelly and dog Coba. He is entering his 5th year with Worthington Kilbourne Baseball and 2nd as Head Coach."
