Llanerch Hills Majors In-house Rules 2011
1.NO DRINKING! NO CURSING! This type of behavior will not be tolerated by any coaches or parents.
2. Time Limit: Each regular season game will have a maximum of six innings, or two hours, whichever comes first. A new full inning cannot be started if you are within 15 minutes of the two-hour time limit. A game becomes official after 3.5 innings of play. Regular season rainouts will be made up if the schedule allows or if the game outcome is required for playoff seating. If a rain out occurs prior to the completion of 3.5 innings and the game is required for playoff seating, the game will resume where it left off. The umpire will have the official clock.
3. Field Set-up/Clean-up: The home team is responsible for setting up the field prior to
the game and getting someone to do the scoreboard, while the away team in charge of field clean up.
Set-up - Lining Field, Installing Bases, Getting Equipment Out.
Clean-up - Putting Away Bases, Putting Away Equipment, Rake Field, Lock Equipment Boxes.

Scoreboard – Home Team must get a parent to do the scoreboard. No kids are allowed up in the clubhouse unsupervised
4. Ending Innings: An inning will end when the offensive team has three outs or scores five runs. The sixth inning or last inning of play can end by three outs, or unlimited runs. For example, if an inning is started prior to the 15 minute rule, please instruct both the umpires and coaches that this will be the last inning of play and unlimited runs will be allowed by both teams.
5. Play Stoppage: A play stops when the ball is in the pitchers possession and the pitcher is on the mound and there is not a continuous play occurring. For example if the pitcher enters the mound and there is a player running to a base, that play is deemed Live and the pitcher can either make a play on the runner or allow him the base. Once the runner gets to the base the umpire will call the play dead and no more runners can advance. The pitchers mound is defined as the circle dirt area, not the stretch of dirt between the mound and home plate.
6. Infield Fly Rule is in Effect
7. Batting: Bunting is allowed with runners in any position. No fake bunts, a batter cannot show bunt, pull back, and swing away. No wooden bats for safety reasons. If the batter strikes out and the catcher drops the ball, the batter is still out. Bat your entire order. Players do not have to be in the field to get an at bat.
8. Base Running: There are no leads. Runner cannot leave the base until the ball passes home plate. No headfirst sliding is allowed with the exception of going back to a base.
9. Pitchers & Catchers: If a pitcher hits two batters in one inning or three batters in one game then he must be replaced.
Pitching will proceed according to Calendar Week (Monday thru and including Sunday)
From April 10 to May 10 – Maximum 6 innings / week. No More then three innings a Game.
Rest Rule: 1 inning - no rest, 2 innings - 1 day rest, 3 innings - 3 days rest,
After May 10 - Maximum 6 innings / week. . No More then four innings a Game.
Rest Rule: 1 inning - no rest, 2 innings – 1 day rest, 3 innings - 3 days rest, 4 innings - 4 days rest
Playoff rule - Pitchers are allowed to pitch a maximum of six innings between two games.
(Rolling Six Inning Rule).
Once a player is removed from the game as a pitcher, they cannot return to pitch within the same game regardless of remaining eligible innings.
Catchers must have a protective cup and throat protector ( ALL DIVISIONS ) please have the catcher ready between innings to keep the game moving. Pinch runners are allowed for catchers to keep the game moving.
10. Minimum Playing requirement - All players are required to play a minimum of four innings.
11. Call-ups from Farm A to Majors: The Farm A Division Director will supply the Majors Division Director with a list of eligible players from their division who are eligible to play in the Majors Division. The players are to be assigned in sequential order. If you have nine players going into a game then you are allowed one call-up from Farm A. If you have ten, then you have no need for a call-up. You must contact the Majors Division Director the day prior to your game and you will be assigned a call-up. If you are short players prior to the start of a game you must contact the Majors Division Director and he will assign a player from the Farm A teams playing at that time. If the player who is utilized is not the next player on the list, the director is to switch the player’s positions on the call-up list. Call-ups from Farm A to Majors must be ten years old. If call-ups are used without being assigned by the Division Director, the game will be played, however the results will be counted as a forfeit in the standings. Call-ups must play a minimum of 2 innings, have at least one at bat and must play the outfield. Call-up players innings played cannot exceed innings played of Major roster players. If a team requires more than 2 call-ups, the game must be rescheduled. DO NOT PLAY GAMES WITH MORE THAN 2 CALL UPS.
12. Dugouts – A maximum of 2 coaches and a bookkeeper allowed per team in each dugout during the game. Parents are not welcomed to utilized the dugouts as grand stands. Players must sit properly on the benches (butts on the seat); not on top of the backrest. Players may not use the dugouts as playground and or picnic area. (ex.Climbing fences, etc). Only one player should be on the on deck circle outside the dugout.

14. Game Summary Sheet - After the game, the game summary sheet in the snack bar must be filled out by both coaches. The game Summary Sheet will include the score, pitching log (Pitcher – Innings pitched), home runs during the game, and a player of the game.
15. No game balls. Each team should recognize a player each game as the player of the game. The player of the game will be written in on the game summary sheet and will be posted on the internet the game before. This will save balls and give a kid a chance to be recognized and published to the whole league. Please ensure that each player receives one player of the game award throughout the year. If the coach forgets to fill out the sheet, then all the necessary info needs to be emailed to the director.
16. Failure to abide by the rules mentioned in this document will result in a forfeit for your team.
Anything not covered in this document will be governed by Cal Ripken Tournament Rules.

Majors Rules - Addendum
1) Base running-
A base runner cannot leave the base until the ball crosses the plate.
Ramifications –
Scenario #1 Base runner leaves early and ball is not hit into play the runner is given a warning and must return to the base. After 2 warnings the runner is out.
Scenario #2 Base runner leaves early and ball is not hit into play the runner is caught stealing, he is out. If safe he must go back to base and is issued a warning.
Scenario #3 Base runner leaves early and ball is hit into play the runner can only advance one base further than the hitter has achieved.
Example #1 – Man on first leaves early, batter hits a single, base runner can only advance to second.
Example #2 – Man on first leaves early, batter hits a single, but the runner advances to third with that, the runner from first moves up to second. Under the rule both runners will be returned to 1st and 2nd base.
