Softball Coaches Form

Coaches Code of Conduct:

"A good coach can change a game; a great coach can change a life."

The role of a coach in a successful youth sports program is paramount in developing the youth in the community. The AGYSF Board of Directors are here to support those that are willing to volunteer their time as a coach. But we must ensure that all involved parties are aware of the expectations of those that are willing to take on this responsibility.

Because of that, the Alba-Golden Youth Sports Foundation (AGYSF), have implemented the following Coaches Code of Conduct for the important message it holds about the valuable role of coaches in fostering principles and instilling life-long core values in the participants of youth sports for our community. Coaches must read, understand, and agree to this form prior to participating in our league as a leader and coach.

Any coach guilty of improper conduct at any game or practice will be asked to leave the sports facility and be suspended from the following game. Repeat violations may cause a multiple game suspension, or the season forfeiture of the privilege of attending all games.

Individuals who wish to coach on teams sanctioned by AGYSF are required to understand and adhere to this the Code of Conduct fully. As a coach, I therefore agree:

1. I will remain unconditionally supportive of AGYSF's commitment to the ideals of good sportsmanship, team play, honesty, loyalty, courage, and respect for authority.
2. Likewise, I will remain sensitive to the physical and emotional well- being of the players.
3. All Coaches Will... Be positive role models.
4. Display and instill in their players the principles of good sportsmanship and team play.
5. I will conduct myself in a manner that best serves the interests of the players, parents, the community, and AGYSF.
6. I will do my best to provide players with a positive experience.
7. I will ensure that my team(s) always exhibit good sportsmanship, win, or lose. "Humble in Victory and Gracious in Defeat."
8. I will treat all players, coaches, opponents, umpires, league officials and spectators with respect.
9. I will provide instruction in a manner that is constructive and supportive.
10. I will teach the game of baseball/softball to the best of my ability.
11. I will comply with the decisions of league and officials and observe all rules, policies, and procedures as established or endorsed by AGYSF.
12. I will notify the appropriate AGYSF baseball/softball commissioner and/or member of the Board of Directors immediately with any knowledge of or witness to a violation or potential violation of any Code of Conduct policy.

The Alba-Golden Youth Sports Foundation Board of Directors reserves the right to impose penalties, including, without limitation, game suspensions, dismissal from the team, suspension, or revocation of the opportunity to participate in additional youth sports leagues and(or) seasons for serious or repeated violation of this Code of Conduct or other conduct deemed to be harmful to AGYSF or any affiliated people or organizations. We agree to abide by the rules and regulations stated herein, and we are bound to all decisions and impositions of these rules. It is with the spirit of cooperation, for the betterment of youth sports and our community, that we willingly abide by this contract.

Please check which team you are interested in coaching;
I understand that I have applied to become a coach for the Alba Golden Youth Foundation and that a criminal background check will be conducted. I understand that my being a coach is contingent on the results of such check. I understand that if something appears on my check, I will be allowed to appear before the Alba Golden Youth Foundation board and explain the findings but that it does not guarantee my being assigned as a coach. Further, I agree to furnish the necessary information in order to complete the background check (name, date of birth, etc.)
