Player Registration, Rules/Bylaws & Waiver of Liability Form

DFW Diamondbacks Rules and Bylaws
All players and coaches will agree to the following Rules/Bylaws (Code of Ethics/Conduct) before they can attend any practices or games.
Section 1: Team Management
(A) The DFW Diamondbacks will be a part of the Texas United Football League (TUFL). As such, all players on the DFW Diamondbacks Football team are subject to the rules and regulations of said league both on and off the field.
(B) All DFW Diamondbacks issues will be resolved by the Team Administrators.
(C) The success of the DFW Diamondbacks is a mere reflection of its players. Therefore, all players are urged to work together in unity.
(D) Players must comply with all written bylaws, rules, and regulations set forth by the DFW Diamondbacks. If bylaws or rules are to be added, deleted, or altered after the start of the season, it will be at the discretion of the Team Administrators.
(E) The DFW Diamondbacks does not provide any form of insurance and is not responsible for injuries, accidents, death, or any form of liability that may occur while traveling to, attending, participating in, or traveling from a DFW Diamondbacks event. It is the responsibility of each player to obtain medical insurance if desired.
(F) Players that quit or get cut during the course of the season will not be eligible for reinstatement during the remainder of the currently scheduled season and possibly the following season. Following season player eligibilities will be determined by each individual circumstance after review by the Team Administrators.
Section 2: General
(A) If feasible, all players should submit a work schedule prior to the beginning of the season if the player knows ahead of time that there will be conflicts with team functions. This submittal is considered prior notification.
(B) Each player must have his own reliable transportation or car pool.
(C) DFW Diamondbacks recommends that all players get a physical prior to starting any physical activity.
(D) The team roster will only allow 50 active players; and players can be cut at any time at the coaches and Team Administrators’ discretion. Any player deemed a danger to himself will be asked to assist the team in another function other than player. There will be no refunds of money paid to the DFW Diamondbacks.
(E) As an OFFICIAL member of the DFW Diamondbacks, you may be expected and asked to help promote the team in the community through appearances (i.e. fundraisers, community service, etc.)
(F) If a player is going to be late for a fundraiser or other scheduled event for the team one of the Team Administrators must be notified.
Section 3: Team Fees
(A) Each "Player" will pay a $150 "NON-REFUNDABLE" Team/Membership Fee. Team/Membership payments are expected November 19, 2021 through January 19, 2022. Each Player must submit equal monthly payments on or before the 19th day of each month until their balance is paid in full. For example, if a player arrives in November 2021 he will pay (3) equal monthly payments of $50 (November $50, December $50, and January $50 equals $150 paid in full). Whereas if a Player arrives in December 2021 he will pay (2) equal monthly payments of $75 (Dec $75 and Jan $75 equals $150 paid in full). In order to become an Official member of the DFW Diamondbacks, the Player Registration Form, Team Fee, TUFL Waiver Form, and Copy of Photo ID, must be received by the deadline. There are no exceptions to this rule. However, if a new player arrives after the deadline, membership may be allowed at the discretion of the Team Administrators. To help aid in filling out our 50-man roster and depth charts, players are urged to submit their Player Registration form as soon as possible before the Annual Organized Team Activities (OTAs). If a player pays a portion of their Team Fee and does not pay their remaining balance by the specified deadlines, that player will not be permitted to participate with the DFW Diamondbacks. Partial payments will not be reimbursed, as all monies given to the DFW Diamondbacks are "NON-REFUNDABLE". Under extenuating circumstances, if a player cancels membership prior to any funds being used on Team expenses, at the discretion of Team Administrators his fee may be refundable; if this were to happen, he will be liable for a 30% cancellation fee.
(B) Each player also has to provide their own gear: Helmet, Mouthpiece, Shoulder Pads, 7-piece pads or girdle, Cleats, and any other accessories that you desire or your coach deems as necessary; (i.e. practice pants, 3x5 Triple Compartment Wrist Coach, gloves, ankle braces, knee braces, etc). If you have trouble finding equipment, please contact a team administrator for assistance.
(C) We will provide your Game uniforms (Red Home Jersey, White Away Jersey, and Red Pants). You must purchase a White pair of Game Pants and a Black pair of Game Pants.
(D) All fees must be paid before uniforms can be issued. Fees are non refundable. If you quit, are cut from the team, or the team ends the season early.... There are no refunds of the fees.
(E) "Uniforms are considered Team Property". Therefore, uniforms are to be returned to the DFW Diamondbacks. If said uniforms are not returned, players will not be allowed to play for any other team in said league; until property is returned. Player is also subject to criminal prosecution; (According to Texas Law: Theft over $50 but less than $500 is a Class B Misdemeanor that can result in a fine not to exceed $2,000 and not more than 180 days confinement in county jail).
(F) If you think you are above paying a player fee, then this is not the team for you. We seek only responsible adults who understand they must pay their way in life, and that most enjoyable activities come with a price tag.
Section 4: Players and Player Transactions
(A) Players must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age to participate.
(B) Each player must submit a copy of their photo ID (i.e. drivers license, state ID card, or other State photo ID.)
(C) DFW Diamondbacks does not pay their players.
(D) Players must sign all pertinent Team and League forms to be eligible for play. Once those forms are signed, you are bound to this team for the duration of the season.
Section 5: Team and League Play
(A) All players must report to practice at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
(B) All players will be ready for practice in the proper state of attire at the designated start time.
(C) All players are responsible to provide their own tape and pre-wrap at each game and practice.
(D) No playbooks will be issued to players until all DFW Diamondbacks required forms have been signed and at least half of the player fee has been paid.
(E) If a player is going to be late for a practice or game, one of the coaches must be notified prior to the start of the events.
(F) All players, coaches, and staff must be present two (2) hours prior to scheduled game kickoff times.
(G) All players must give at least 72 hours notice if you are going to miss a game. Notify as soon as possible if it is unexpected. Notification is only valid if the Head Coach or the Owner has been "called".
(H) The DFW Diamondbacks reserves the right to suspend any player, coach, or staff member indefinitely for any inappropriate actions.
Section 6: Conduct
(A) No fighting at any time for any reason. There will be no fighting between players or any team personnel on the field or the sidelines. You will be dismissed from practice, ejected from the game, suspended for 1 game, and fined the league penalty of $100-200, and/or possibly released from the team.
(B) Work, extreme illness, natural disaster, etc. are considered legitimate reasons for truancy or tardiness. However, the coaching staff has discretion in determining the legitimacy of all reasons given by a player.
(C) All players will take part in every activity in an event unless restricted by a coach, medical doctor, or athletic trainer.
(D) Respect of all teammates, staff, and volunteers of the DFW Diamondbacks is mandatory.
(E) Team Administrators reserve the right to disqualify a player from being on the team for any actions or behaviors unbecoming of an athlete as well as "any player that may not be suited for this level of play".
(F) Physical or verbal abuse of any kind to players, coaches, or management is unacceptable. You will be treated with respect and dignity and we expect the same of you.
(G) Abusive or vulgar language will be kept to a minimum. If you are asked by the coaching staff, management personnel, or game official to refrain from abusive language; do so.
(H) Any player’s attitude, which in the opinion of the coaching staff, is a hindrance to the team, may be dismissed from the team.
(I) Deliberate dirty play or cheap shots will not be tolerated at all. Zero tolerance for this type of action.
(J) Zero tolerance for any physical violence or threats of physical violence towards teammates, coaches, staff, opponents, or the game officials. You will be dropped from the team roster.
(K) Any use of drugs and/or alcohol at practice or the game field is a **FELONY**. Any player under the influence of drugs or alcohol during practice, any team function, or a game will be immediately sent home and can be REMOVED from the team... Remember your actions reflect on this team and its members.
(L) We want to set a standard on this team that all will take pride in. We want the public and our peers to see that we want to make a difference in the community by our actions on and off the field. No matter the outcome, you must maintain good sportsmanship before, during, and after the game. All players and coaches will shake hands with the other team after the game.
Section 7: Results for Inappropriate conduct and not following the above listed rules
(A) Attendance & Tardiness:
a. All team members are required to attend 80% of practices. To govern it, we take attendance at every practice. If a team member misses more than 2 consecutive and unexcused Practices, he is assumed to have abandoned the team and is subject to dismissal.
(B) Players will be held financially responsible for any action resulting in a fine levied against the team by the Texas United Football League (TUFL) that is the direct result of that player’s actions.
(C) All fines are to be paid prior to the next team function. Failure to pay fines will result in suspension until such fines are paid or satisfactory arrangements are agreed upon.
Section 8: Appeals Process
(A) As a player, your first obligation if you are unhappy with a decision that is made, is to discuss the decision with the person or group who has made the decision. For example: If you are unhappy with a coaching decision, please talk to the coach personally.

In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the DFW Diamondbacks Football Team athletic sports program, related events and activities, the undersigned acknowledges, appreciates, and agrees that:
1) The risk of injury from the activities involved in this program is significant, including the potential for permanent paralysis and death, and while particular rules, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist.
2) I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES or others, and assume full responsibility for my participation.
3) I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If, however, I observe any unusually significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring such to the attention of the nearest official immediately.
4) I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS DFW Diamondbacks Football Team, their officers, officials, agents, and/or employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (“RELEASEES”), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT, AND SIGN IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT.
